School me on how to adjust front wheel bearings

I always tighten the nut. Then you use a flat screwdriver between the housing and the big washer. Keep loostening till you are able to slide the washer under the nut. Go to next looser hole for pin. Check by spinning wheel and seeing if you get any wobble

Don't do what I did, wait till the left front wheel fell off when my wife was driving. It was on my local farm road in the snow and she drove the car 1/2 mile to get to the driveway. Only the steering was holding the wheel on. I tried to change the BJ myself but could not do it with...

    No Heat

How long are you waiting for heat? On warm up the gauge will go up over normal then come back to normal. You still will not have heat for at least 5 minutes more as the water circulates.

    stupid question?

My 89 GT had the flasher attached under and up the steering column.. NOT THE FUSE PANEL that is the Hazzard. You have to reach under the column and fee up the shaft till you reach the metal blinker (sounds sexy) It is clipped on and has a little slack to pull it down a little. Change it and put...

Car will not get up to operating temperature

Believe me, every car I have ever owned requires heat to open the T stat. They always pass the normal range to provide that heat. It is just that most people do no focus their attention on the dash when they first start out on a ride to work. Try it sometimes. My 89 GT would scare me...

Car will not get up to operating temperature

Even new T stats can be deffective. You might try an independent temperature reading to verify. When you start the car dead cold, watch the temp gauge. It shoud rise in 10 min or so straight past normal into the danger area. Then fall back to normal. That is the sign of an...

    OHH CRAP!! fuel line leak..

My 89 GT had the same leak last year. It was the return line and shot a miniture stream when the car was running. I went to NAPA and bought 1 foot of high pressure fuel line. I cut about 2 inches. I slit the side longitudinally. I slipped the split hose on the line and slid it...

    Fuel pump relay getting hot?

The fuel pump rely's on the flow of cool gas to keep the tiny motor from seizing up. If you let the tank run dry, DON'T CRANK AND CRANK you will only seize the $100 motor. The increased current probably overheated the relay contacts so it will now be intermittent $12 will fix the relay.

    4.6 Triton similarities.

excuse my ignorance what does non PI mean? I noted in 2005 the 97 F150 made the top 10 list for vehicles being stolen. That is 8 years old..... Is it because it is easy? abundant? somehow desired?

    4.6 Triton similarities.

triton I looked up the 97 F150 and for the first two years they say cast iron heads. In 99 they went to the aluminum heads. Also they say the spark plugs will blow out of the aluminum head engines and ford refuses to recall them. Maybe I am lucky the 97 has the cast heads for the...

    Fuel Pump?

It could be you have some kind of fuel problem that is causing a dumping fuel into the cylinder when off causing a detonation. By the way, it is a killer of the fuel pump if it runs dry for any time. So running on E is dangerious to your wallet.
