    What the heck does VTEC mean?

    VTEC is always "on" Its operated by a solenoid that changes the cam lobe at higher RPM's.... for example my friend's switches to the high lobe at 4000 rpm. They use the smaller lobes down low still because thats your "economy" setup... a good driver won't leave VTEC during a race.
