Drop in aftermarket gauges for '66?

It's the first time I see a chromed version of this bezel. Normally it's just black. I like the chrome, but I don't really like the "lips" or whatever you may call them, under the large gauges. I assume they wanted to replicate the look of the original 66 5 dial cluster, but to me it looks like...

Why are the gas tanks offset to one side?

If that's the case they moved it to the wrong side. Contrary to popular believe, optimum performance/traction/handling was not the nr 1 priority in the Mustang's design :D I think the spare tire mounting space is a more likely reason.

    Wilwood Forged Spindles

The spindle pin of those spindles sits 4.30" higher than the bottom of the spindle, where this distance is only 1.25" on a stock vintage Mustang spindle. This means that the spindles by themselves result in a rather radical 3" drop. On an otherwise stock suspension with new, stock lenght...

    1966 289 HiPo Exhaust

These people also have all kinds of systems. They used to have them for Hipo manifolds too, but can't find them now. Mandrel bent, 2" or 2.25" in either stainless or aluminized. Not very cheap though. http://www.stainlessworks.net/

Rear Disc Conversion (What Master Cylinder?)

Ford Racing also offers a 1" dual master cylinder, that looks like the old style. The original application was an early 80's Crown Victoria or something. It is (or was) included in one of the Ford Racing brake kits for Fox body Mustang...

    sport seat foam and upholstery

Do you know if they offer them in the standard interior pattern (for a 65?). I got the impression from the TMI website that they do, but all the vendors seem to carry is the Pony versions. They're nice too, but I'd rather not have them in an otherwise stock interior.

    Mustang Drop Spindles

I'm quite (but not 100%) sure that the 65-67 rotor fits the 70-73 spindle if you use the 70-73 wheel bearings. They have the same OD. Only the ID is different. I once did the opposite: for a mock up of a project i was working on, I installed Granada rotors on 65 spindles, using 65 wheel bearings.

Improved Camber during Shelby Drop for a '67

Moving the UCA 1/8" back would increase caster, not camber. It would move the wheel a bit backward, but don't expect too much of it. The spindle pin is much closer to the lower ball joint than to the upper one, so moving the UCA (and the UBJ) 1/8" will move the wheel just 1/32" or so...

    ORIGINAL FORD TOOLING SHEET METAL

If your company would produce sheet metal similar in quality of what Ford produced back in the sixties, customers would probably complain too. Since tooling tends to wear out, the quality of the new "Original Tooling" parts may be worse compared to what they made in the sixties. I like...

BARN FIND...(actually it was in a warehouse)

I'm not a fan of the flares (you seem to have your doubts yourself as well :) ) but a cool find nonetheless. You said it had TCP suspension parts. I didn't think they were already around in 1985? Good luck with it.

    65 vs 67 spindle question

The 67 spindles have a different steering arm geometry (same for all 67-73 and also Granada). Using them on a 65-66 Mustang, this will increase bumpsteer, but you will most likely fix this issue with the Baer Trackers. At least, I hope you will, as I am going to do the same thing (although...

    Ball joint ?

The tie rod holes are larger, but the lower ball joint hole is the same as on a Mustang. You may be confused with the Versailles spindles, which are the same as Granada, except for a larger lower ball joint hole. They do need sleeves in order to use them on a Mustang.

    Rocker arm question

You should not use guide plates and rail rockers together. You will end up with two things trying to align the rocker arms and push rods, which can work against each other. In order to use rail rockers, the valve stems need to stick out far enough above the retainer. Therefore, Ford...

    help with bad Negitive camber

Just to make sure: Does // \\ mean that the tires look like that when viewing the car from the front (too much negative camber) or from above (too much toe in) ? Negative camber is adjusted by turning the LCA-to-chassis bolt and excentric and toe by turning the tie rod adjustment...

    Ball joint ?

The stud is not seated in the tapered hole. Make sure that both the stud and hole are clean so that it seats properly and that the threads are clean and do not have burrs. The cleaner the threads, the easier the nut goes on and less clamping is needed to keep the stud from spinning. If that...

Anyone wanna give me a estimate?

The 260 had 1.59" intake and 1.39" exhaust valves and a 3.80" bore. On 4" bore engines you can go all the way to 2.02 intake valves (with inline valves). On a 260, you have 0.10" less bore on each side, so theoretically, if a 2.02" valve fits a 4.00" bore, then a 1.82" valve would fit a...

New Comp Cams Thumpr cams; No Sir. I don't like it.

Do you have experience with them? I'm using a CompCams hydraulic roller cam with a reduced base circle. The cam has Xtreme energy lobes with .533 lift and just 208 deg duration @.050, so the opening rates are pretty steep. IIRC, the push rods you use with reduced base circle cams are .150"...

New Comp Cams Thumpr cams; No Sir. I don't like it.

I believe they charge about $20-30 extra for a custom ground cam, so it's not very expensive in the overall scheme of things. Make sure that your instructions are clear though. In my case, it took 3 cams before they got it right. I read an ad for these Thumper cams the other day. To me it...
