    Mustang II popularity

You can't compare these hp ratings. In 1973 or 74 they changed the rating system. It's like comparing apples to oranges in a bad way. I liked my II when no one else did and the junk yards were full of them. The more people like IIs the less I like mine at times. Went to a 'cruise' this...

    302/347 crank-- winter project

First off you'll never find a Mexican 302 block with a 8.229 deck. At least not here in the states. The mexican block was only imported for 1-2 years ('68 & '69) and from my understanding, they were all 8.206 blocks. The '68 Mexi block I have here is an 8.206 deck. If you want the taller...

    Lets Talk Intake 302 V8

I always run the cork center gaskets unless the heads or block deck have been milled significantly. Then I custom make them out of thinner cork material. The trick to making the cork stay is to 1st use 3M weatherstrip adhesive (yellow snot), which I use all over the rest of the engines gaskets...

    Straight Six

Most all of the I6s are pretty tall too. Have enough trouble with the 250 I6s in Mavericks and their engine bay is taller than a II. It takes a Carter RBS 1bbl to get the 250 I6 to fit under the hood of a Mav and still retain an air cleaner. The 200 I6 is a bit shorter and thus you'll see them...

    harmonic balancer

Just about any 4 bolt balancer will work as long as you have it's matching pointer. There are only 3-4 combos up till the early 80s that Ford used, one being the 'casted in pointer' on the 289. Here's a pic I made a while ago with part numbers that I've found factory on the IIs.

    radiator

Last one I bought was throught the local radiator shop and was made by Modine. It was a 3 row using 1/2" cores. It's a '78 style with the cap on the tank. I'll see if I can dig up a part number. Many moons ago I had gotten one from Ready-Rad through a partshouse, but not sure if they are still...

    Dano.... Dano who?

No I didn't make it to the Wranglers' show. That meet is dead nuts in the middle of Little Leauge ball season, and I was coaching the boy's team. We had a game that day at 11am so it kinda show a hole in any attempt to go. I really wanted to to and get a booth and unload some of this crap I...

78' MUSTANG II, WHEEL & TIRE SIZE ?

They are still out there. Matter of fact BFG still makes that size as well as a few others that some have thought were long vanished.

    MOTOR TREND

Car Craft and Street Rodder are the two I subscribe to. Car Craft (that I can recall) hasn't beaten up on the II but rather featured small stories about the Monroe handler and the Roush 460 powered hatchbacks. That's alot more than most rags will give the II.

    Mustang II parts

Finding a good used battery box section is gonna be really tough. Even the west coast cars have fallen victim to bad rust in these areas. You may have to get creative and just weld/patch it iup as best as you can or keep on the hunt. There are a few II's out there that have good battery box...

    Dano.... Dano who?

Hey nice to see you guys! Definately looking forward to the T-5 swap. Been yerning to row gears once again. :p Just wish my car was nice enough to make the show circuit. Now that the engine is giving me fits, who knows... Impala- Still no cargo panels yet, eh? Man I haven't...

    MOTOR TREND

Motor Trend.... isn't that a 'has been'magazine?? I don't think I'd even use that trash to line the bottom of a bird cage. I'll tell you what. My poor fastback is so beat up from the years of strage and irrational carnage yet, embarrased of its looks, I took it out on the road the other day...

    Dano.... Dano who?

Nice to hear from ya Mstng2 :) Yeah I noticed that too. Use to be you could come in here just about every day and find a handful of new posts and one or two new faces. Times change I guess. I have a feeling that quite a few of the regulars as well as some of the newer faces have gone to the...

    Vacuum schematic for a 1976 2.3

Could have been from one of the smaller manuals for the II like the Haynes, Chiltons or Glenn Manuals. But I have a Mitchell Manual aswell that shows vacuum diagrams. Could have been any one of them. I scanned it quite some time ago, so I can't remember for sure.
