sorry 'bout that.... Currently running an A9L equivalent computer with 24 lb injectors and a MAF cal'd for 24 lbs...have been having really bad idle surge and running super rich even after all the diagnostics, sensor checking/replacing, and tuning. Anyways, my MAF got crushed accidentally the...

    1988 MAF Conversion

howdy again, would a 75mm MAF work as opposed to a 70mm? (i have one ordered and it is a 75mm...if it is prudent, I will surely send it back for a 70mm). Also, fyi, my TB is a 70mm.

    1988 MAF Conversion

jrichker, am temped to go back to 19; however, I want to make sure that 24 is not still good since I have, as not mentioned earlier, reworked heads with oversized valves etc and upgraded headers/exhaust also...any problems forseen with using the '93 cobra computer and just staying at 24 lbs?

    1988 MAF Conversion

...another thought, the computer used for my unsuccessful MAF conversion came out of a car with 19 lb injectors factory...do i simply need to find a computer that came factory for cars like the cobra which used 24 lbs?

Bad Idle Surge on '88 Fox w/Mods

yep, EGR is gone. since i rigged up my own homeade heating system, i decided, it was just too much trouble cutting and splicing into my heater hoses to run coolant through the TB. i don't think it makes a huge difference, but hey, if i can get the BIG BUGS worked out of this car, then, yah, i...

Bad Idle Surge on '88 Fox w/Mods

oh, what i said earlier about coolant coming out of the TB when i took it off, there shouldn't be any there since i dont route coolant through it anymore, but i once did and what came out must just be old stuff that sat in there....not worried about a head gasket anymore.

yah, but i bipassed the coolant from going to the TB....it isn't like stock-there's no coolant line anyhwere near the TB anymore, it should be dry as a bone. :(

Bad Idle Surge on '88 Fox w/Mods

interesting, well, I actually took my TB off to see where that idle air screw was and it doesn't have one.....even more interesting is that when I took the TB off, a fair amount of coolant came with it. This would be the 3rd time I had to repair a headgasket in that car in 2 years. I don't...
