My bad for not asking that. I couldn't imagine why anybody would pull that out????

    Speedo Gear

You know I have actually never ever seen an auto up close on a 5.0 but I would imagine that it would be very similar.

    Speedo Gear

You might need to jack it up or put it on ramps. Right about where you drivers side seat is (under the car) you'll find the speedo cable. There should be a screw/bolt holding that into the trans. Take that out and the cable should pull right out (assuming it's there to begin with), the gear will...

    Clutch ?

I love my aluminum flywheel and Centerforce D/F clutch but it's not the cheapest. I would do it again in a heartbeat though.

    ahhh yes another mpg thread

2.73 gears and lots of low end power. I was getting high 20's highway and about 20 running it hard around town and still could pull a high 13/low 14 1/4 but then I did H/C/I and some other goodies...really need a dyno tune to get any mileage back. I had pulleys, e-fan, 2 1/4" Dynomax...

This might help some if your modded at all or plan to.... MUFFLER SHOOTOUT: Results based on 5.0 Mustang Magazine December 2002 issue (page 55). Test car is a ’90 Coupe with 370 HP and 11 second potential. A number of 66 pulls were made to compile this information. Where does your muffler...

    Speedo Gear

Takes about 5-10 mins to install. Here is some info to help decide which gear to get... Figuring gear ratio with different size tires. Divide the old tire diameter by the new tire diameter and then multiply by the current ratio. So a stock 87 tire is 225/60/15 or 25.63 diameter and say...

    what to do

I agree......Trickflow makes a nice kit but most say go with a different cam to get full potential. Not sure what your 383 Nova runs in the 1/4 but 260rwhp can get you 12's in a 5.0 pretty easy with a decent driver if set up right.

Economy and power from a H/C/I combo

The GM's also run a 6 speed transmission with a .50 6th gear compared to the .68 of most 5 speed 5.0's. I do know of a local that runs 260RWHP and gets mid 20's MPG and runs high 12's on street tires with 3.73 gears. Of course his family member runs a dyno shop and has it dialed in.

car wont run unless i keep giving it gas

Sounds like maybe the VSS is needed. Without it this will cause issues that you are having.

    what throttle body size?

I would go for the 70MM if your upgrading the engine HP. The dynos that I have seen have no loss on the low end like most people think.

I think NH has a little higher shipping rate due to the distance from them.

    Anybody running this?

Well I think I'm going with a Optima 25-910 Red Top Battery. I found a site that sells them for about $120 shipped. The 35 series seems to have a tick more punch but is a little larger as well.

    Anybody running this?

http://www.performancedistributors.com/batteries.htm Much lighter than stock and seems to have the cranking power as well. was shopping for a new battery and was going for the "RED TOP" but stumbled across these. Just wondering if anybody had any experiance with them.

lost 4 mph in 1/4 mile after new rims?! Help

What size did you start with? What size are you running now? If you had a 225/60/15 the tire height should be 25.62 or 225/55/16 25.74...assuming your running a 255/45/17 the height would be 26.03. This is like dropping your gearing (3.55 to 3.4XX) and between that and using a much wider...

Okay guys, help me out here

If I'm not mistaken 5.0 cams are rated with 1.6 rockers (so you have .512 lift)....If you add 1.7 rockers that adds about .030 lift to the cam spec.
