    So, would a PI top end fit on this bottom? How about a set of aftermarket heads? I'm not getting anything but the block, heads, intake and cams. I'm guessing the top end has flow issues compared to the PI motor. Just wondering if slapping that stuff on would up it a bit.

    Not sure there. Haven't seen it yet. I should know this weekend. So are all 4.6 bottom ends pretty much the same as far as bolting on heads and such?

    Getting a free motor out of an E-250. Looking up the specs, I see it's still a 2v and has a 9.3 Compression ratio but has less power than the 99-04. Anyone work on these, or know anything about them? Would it be worth building up, or rebuilding as a back up to drop in?

    Some guys get lucky and don't get a CEL with the cats removed. White smoke is either coolant burning, or water vapor. I'd keep and eye on your coolant level and temp gauge for a while.

    It was full. That was the first thing I checked when attempting to diagnose the issue. I know issues don't fix themselves, so either the fluid changed fixed it or the problem is dormant. What would the wrong weight oil do?

    Seems like the issue has been fixed by changing the fluid. Makes me think the previous owner didn't use any friction modifyer. Not sure what else would make those noises.

    I could be wrong, but I don't think posting someone else's car for sale is a crime. I would write or find a number to call cars.com and have the car removed from the site.

    For the beginner, the PI mod would be the best bang for the buck. From there, I would add gears and a good set of tires. Once you get to that step, your best hp gain for the money would be FI.

    I've heard many people complaint about not having a low enough gear with the centri blowers. I would recommend getting a stickier and taller tire to fix the problem.

    I've yet to do this with these cars, but have done it on many others. You may be able to remove the trans mount and lower it a bit on a jack. This may give you the clearance to get to the bolts.

    That's most likely my next guess. Either that or a tooth being chipped off the 28 spline rear axle.

    I guess I wasn't specific enough. This isn't a suspension issue. It's a repetitive thump that seems to speed up and slow down with the vehicle speed.

    My guess was the flat spot was from parking it for the winter without being able to lift it or move it from time to time. This issue has been happening since last summer. Shocks are brand new. LCA's are stock. Would that create a thumping sound?
