    Transmission Recommendations Please!

Here is the page for the PA AOD http://www.performanceautomatic.com/transaod.htm It has lockup though, which probably won't hold up under the TQ you will be making. I would suggest the Lentech Strip Terminator found here http://www.lentechautomatics.com/aodproducts.html On a down side, they...

What are some good, inexpensive rear control arms?

No one replaces the upper bushings on the axlesb/c they are a royal PITA to replace. And they generally hold up pretty well.

    Carb or EFI???

Is it going to be a street car? DD? 5.0 or stroker?

    SUBFRAME ?'s

I have UPR's and have no problems with them. You shouldn't have to take out the exhaust, even if they bolt to the seat brackets. It would give you more room to work under the car though, if you are doing the welding yourself.

    GEARS IN AUTOMATIC EQUIPPED STANG

What no one else that has posted has that you do, is a nonlockup tranny. It's not your DD, so is it a strip car? I would think 4.30's would be waaay too much at the track, and 4.10's are gonna be up there, depending on what size tires you were running.

    VALVEBODY QUESTIONS WHICH ONE

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I'd say the 2-3 shaft is the outer shaft, which you will have either way, and the inner shaft is the lockup shaft. I just got in from driving my car, and it does not lockup when I shift to 3rd. I have to build up some speed before it locks up. I have 3.73's and I...

    Finally found the problem

A good machine shop should be able to, I have had some unbelievably stupid run ins with a few though. There is nothing wrong with reusing the pistons if they are in good shape. Just make sure you get the block honed and a new set of rings.

    VALVEBODY QUESTIONS WHICH ONE

If you drive the car reguarly, get the lockup and add a hardened shaft. You will thank yourself later.

Get an ECTED, best of both worlds.

    Finally found the problem

Sounds like you already know what to do. Intially you stated the bores looked good, so if it already has GOOD aftermarket pistons, why pay for a new set? You could just replace the broken two, have the block honedand the crank ground, and put new bearings and rings in.

    Wanting 300 rwhp

I put down 220 with a stock 156k mile long block, an Explorer intake, 76mm MAF, full exhaust and bolt ons with an AOD. I would have to think AFR's would be worth 30 hp. I just put together a 306 with ported stock heads, 2031 cam, the Explorer intake, and 24 lber's, and I hope to put down well...

Good Local Tranny Shop For My T-5 Rebuild

Well, it is rebuilt with the better parts at least. I have seen a few people selling off their 3550's or older TKO's pretty cheap to get new TKO 500 or 600's. Of course you never know how much abuse they have had.

    Wanna Ditch The Smog Pump

Assuming there is not too much build up to thread the bolts in, yes, they are 9/16-12. But if there is too much carbon build up, you won't be able to get the bolts or the plugs in without chasing the threads, which is hard to do w/ the heads on the car.
