    Question about an older dyno

JBA's dyno has been known to be rather interesting in how it calculates their numbers. Local rumor is that their dyno is on "shootout mode"... There's really no explanation for their numbers, as on one occasion I've seen a very stock car dyno higher than the stock flywheel numbers. :scratch...

    Steeda U/D Pullies

If you can feel 5hp with your pants, you've got a very finely calibrated crotch. I'm not trying to dog the pullies, or those who have installed them, but for the money, you might see better gains putting it towards a tune where you should make more power you can feel. -Patrick

is this true? and would it work?

guys do it all the time, it's called a PI swap. GT engines from 96-98 are called Non-PI, and 99-04 are called PI, Performance Improvement. The cams, heads, and intake are slightly different, and make 260hp compared to the 96-98 225hp. Very popular, very available, and a pretty good...

2000 GT - Does my car have stock gears?

The RPM is always dead on, but depending on your year, your car's transmission has an electronic or mechanical speedo. If it's mechanical, you could just put in the proper speedo tooth to multiply the revs/speed or get a SpeedCal box to do it. On the electronic ones, it's as simple as tossing...

2000 GT - Does my car have stock gears?

I whipped this together real quick, hopefully it finds some usefulness for you. I've calculated these all out assuming: 245/45/17 tires and OD/5th gear of .67 If your tires are a different size, or you have a different transmission like a T56, these values will vary slightly, but maybe print...

    Just a quick question

Should be just fine as long as you maintain it properly like changing the fluids at the regular intervals and don't go out of your way to do anything silly like revving it up in neutral and slamming it into gear.

    noob suspension?

It's hard to argue against Bilstein shocks/struts for any Mustang, they're one of the best products on the market and one of the first things that should be done to a Mustang stock suspension. As for springs, there are several great packages out there, depending on what you're looking for...

    Interesting info on Boomtubes

Thanks Grant! :nice: They're actually made by Pacifica Performance, who I believe is something like MAC's sister company. We put some of these on a customer's car the other weekend, and I kinda wish they had something like these for my beloved SN-95s. They slip on so easily, and the design is...

How many/which gauges on a FI car?

The PLX Devices are great, especially when you have it displaying 4 sensors at the same time which cut down on all the space that the gauges would normally take up. That being said, the more the merrier, but at an absolute minimum, you've got to have an air/fuel and boost. But if it were my...

    BUILT NPI DYNO NUMBERS!!!!

Congrats. I also proved to alot the NPI's work well. When I ported mine, I had a PI set done too. The NPI's flowed about 20cfm more on the intake side and 15cfm more on the exhaust side. All done on a flow bench of course. And the NPI's had more average cfm across the entire board. The PI's beat...

    upper coolant hose

There is a 4" tubular extension that goes in that upper hose. You have to cut an inch off the hose where it mounts to the upper radiator outlet, and then cut the hose after the blower and place that extension there. :nice:

pi spec cams in npi heads

The NPI grind is gonna be more safe. The problem is the valve spring installed height is shorter on the NPI head, thus allowing for less lift on the cams. The valve springs will go into coil bind around .540-.545". The Crower offset retainers help alot, but even then the max lift their engineers...

4.6 build how high of compression can it take?

How much power you want is the main question. We prefer lower compression and high boost too, it's the only replacement for displacement...lol However, not everyone has that build in their budget. I say keep saving personally, but if you are ready to do something with what you have, a...
