My 2011 GT at Laguna Seca 6-26-11

All of your downshifting is completed before turn in. Either with heel-toe downshifting or left foot braking. Heel-toe makes you look like a hero to fan-boys. Left foot braking can cause you to have a ventilated gearbox, but is a lot faster method. You never shift mid corner, it changes...

    ECU question

looking up PCMs on older Ford's can take some time. You need the calibration code and then on the parts lookup there is a list of calibration codes you need to match up. On mustangs there arent that many, i think 15 for your year. You then pull up the list and it lists all the emissions...

What I want to know is what was their plan next. Both the part numbers are Disco Duck from Ford so its not like they could order one. BTW Disco Duck is short for discontinued aka obsolete aka not available anymore.

Any Clearance Issues with the MM T/A, PHB and...

I had the same cover on my 98 GT with the MM PHB and it was close but it cleared. The newer low profile ones clear no issues. When i talked to the owner of MM at a track day he said they put the warning there because on a case by case basis it may not fit.

    ECU question

Per your VIN, the F8ZF12A650AED is the correct PCM for your emissions calibration code. The shop obviously does not have access to dealer level information.

    Intake manifold help...

Where is the coolant leaking? Did you use a Ford intake or the Dorman one? If you used the Dorman one did you get all the o-rings in place that they used instead of gaskets.

    Need help with determining motor

Ford does NOT VIN stamp blocks or transmissions or rear axles. That is why when someone says their Ford is "numbers matching" they are talking out their posterior.

    Intake manifold help...

What did you forget to reconnect? Also did you change plugs or coils when you do intakes? The last intake i did on my mom's Grand Marquis i put in all new Motorcraft coils and plugs when i changed the intake and it ran perfect. Reason i ask is there could have been coolant down the plug...

    Brakes and Coolant

No just go with it. You are more concerned with consistency over the course of the trip. But always always always whenever possible check pressures cold unless you are open tracking and are using it for alignment diagnosis.

4 speed auto to a 6 speed auto swap

Which 6 speed are you talking about? If its the one in the new Mustangs, I am sure it can be done. You just need to figure out a way to control it.

    Brakes and Coolant

One thing to remember on your tire pressures that they will increase with heat from driving. The door spec is cold. All you should be checking for while on a road trip is variances between the tires. Generally the rears will be slightly higher, .5-1psi, due to the car being RWD.

    Patriot heads, eh?

Those are OEM Ford heads that have been ported and polished. The current must have heads for the 2v motors are the ones from Trickflow.

    p1000 I need help I can't clear this

I am assuming the OP is in CAlifornia since he keeps calling it a smog check, and IIRC we are the only state that calls it that. If that is the case, a present P1000 code is an immediate failure. OP: what monitors have not run yet?

Well the least coolest thing just happened to my car

He has a 1996 MY car. Ford only keeps key codes for cutting in their database for 2002 and newer model year vehicles. So thats a no go.

Well the least coolest thing just happened to my car

If the original selling dealer is known we can call and ask if they can look in their database to see if they entered the key code when the vehicle was sold. If the original selling dealer is not available, or unwilling to help, we have a local locksmith that will come out and cut a key.

Well the least coolest thing just happened to my car

Ford only supplies cut codes for dealer for 2002 and newer MY vehicles currently. Every day they purge the key code lists for vehicles 10 years +1 day old.

E5SC-5560AA Springs - New shocks needed

Those numbers do not cross to anything on my Ford parts lookup at work. You might want to call FRPP and ask them what that engineering number points to.
