    Junkyard parts question

I believe that the bolts on the 5.0 are SAE thread. Before I would go to a JY to strip off old bolts 20 years old I woud go to NAPA and get what I need. There is no problem having two bolts with different diameters on the water pump. Why are you having to retap the holes? are bolts...

    Fuel Pump

If the pump regularlly runs that long after each turn off. I would locate the relay and be ready to pull it out of the socket when it is running on.

Is there a power lock fuse/relay?

I had disconnected the power lock switch on the passenger door a few years ago. As a result no button would activate the locks. Now I reconnected the switch and I get no activation of the locks. Think it's corrosion, or is there a fuse/relaqy to check? There is no fuse listed in the...

    Another Mass Air ?

I think it depends on whether the car is COLD or HOT. If cold the MAF has a large effect. If hot the maf seems to have little effect on the idle.

    Low oil pressure?

My 89 GT gauge also reads low and always has. It hovers around the oil lamp symbol. I blame it on the stock gauge. But before I would worry I would buy a $10 mechanical gauge and install it.

    Replace fuel pump connector

I would try Ford if you are desprate. A junk yard with a few mustangs would be an easy fix. You should be able to get the entire length from clip to clip for a few bucks.

    problems with gas tank

Since you just payed with the high pressure hoses, I would suspect that first. I got new locking clips for mine from NAPA and the "O" type plastic clip from Advance Auto

    Another power steering question

I never heard of regular power steering fluid making a new pump go bad. If the pump is straining under straight steering I would suspect that the load is much more than normal. Try jacking up front wheels and turn steering with car off. Is there a point where the wheel will not turn...

550 AM radio station revs with my car HAH bad ground?

The radio has wat is called an automatic gain control AGC. Its function is to adjust the tunner gain to pick up low far away stations. At 550 there is probably no station there so the AGC is cranked all the way up. This results in picking up the static due to the car running. You...

Should I buy a brand new a/c system?

I See no advantage of replacing the entire AC system on an 88 car. You may be lucky and replace the one part that may be leaking but you can find that out without the change. If the guy did his job right he would have pulled a vacuum for a few hours. Maybe he didn't and the pressure...

change starter solenoid, and now fuel pumps not getting power

Since you just worked on the solenoid I would first suspect that the fuse link that attaches to the terminals is loose or dirty. Start with the simple things.

    Blowing fuel pump hose off!

YOU ARE RIGHT. I thought you were referring to the outside lines. I just changed my 89 pump and just reused the internal rubber line to the hardline. The fitting is so short and fixed, I can't imagine any way it could LEAK unless the worm screw was not tightned.

    Blowing fuel pump hose off!

There is not supposed to be a rubber hose with screw clamps connecting the fuel line or the return line on a FI mustang. As the pump delivers almost 70 PSI the rubber hose will most likely wiggle off at some time. If you look at the end of the fuel line you should see a small bump about 3/4...
