    no, you don't need the kit with the special crane lifters. yes, you need to use the special lifters to use a std base cam.

    275/50's will fit fine with no modifications. i've used that tire and a 27x11.5 hoosier on the same rim. here's a pic of the 275/50's on a 15x8.5 rim:

    1/8" is all that is required per the rules, but i used 3/16" for the main loop part.

    i just installed the same thing in my '68. the only tip i can pass along is that the main loop had 'sprung' a little bit. we had to put a strap near the botton and pull it in to fit. other then that, no problems.

    rollbar or rollcage? i left my headliner in when i installed my rollbar. just used some stainless and insulation to protect it during welding.

    i had hedmans on my 351w that cleared the box. i bought the lowering bracket, but i didn't need to use it. i still have the bracket.
