    Too Much Compression!

Probe doesn't list pistons for 289s and I'm assuming 302 pistons are different because of the different rod lengths. What do you think of Speed Pro?

Also, what should I expect to pay to have the rotating assembly balanced?

    Too Much Compression!

I've seen some listed. Is it worth the $ to get forged or are hypereutectic good? What is the highest compression ratio I should aim for without issues with pump gas?

    Too Much Compression!

I would rather not have to pull the engine and replace my pistons but it does seem to be the smart approach. If i do get rid of the domed pistons, what should I look for in new pistons if I keep my heads and cam as is? I would like to keep as much performance as I can but easily run on pump gas.

    Too Much Compression!

I had thought about a spacer but wasn't sure if there was one thick enough to bring compression down enough. Would taking valve shrouding down increase the combustion chamber volume?

    Too Much Compression!

Oh, he also told me that he has gotten more power using a cam for. 351 firing order. Does that make sense?

    Too Much Compression!

BTW, my current cam is a .512 lift/ 292 duration. Don't know anything else about it.

    Too Much Compression!

Thanks for your advise Horse Sense. I have been talking to a couple of friends who, like you, have far more experience than I do here. One of them, who is a Ford guy, agrees with you that I need to go flat top. The other, who is a Chevy guy but also has Fords and knows how tight my budget is...

    Too Much Compression!

You guys have helped me out time and again and could use you expertise again. I have been trying to diagnose and fix a leaning out problem without any luck and decided to pull my heads to see what is going on. I have a 289 bored 0.030 with 351W heads that are stamped C90E G(?) as near as I can...

    Brake Advise

Master cylinder came with power brake kit for a '70 so I believe it's correct. I may try a vacuum reservoir to so if I get any improvement and go from there. Still surprised that even brake upgrade kits all us drum spindles. Surely other people with stock disc brakes upgrade .

    Brake Advise

I had contacted them before and I need to convert my spindles to drum for all their caliper adapters which I may have to do but hate spending the extra $. Trying to keep the costs down.

    Brake Advise

I have a '70 Sportsroof that needs help in the braking department. When I bought the car it had manual front discs and rear drums. I needed to really start on the brakes to get the car to stop at all so I upgraded to power brakes but didn't get quite the positive change in braking I was hoping...

    70 Shelby Grill

I'm guessing that a '70 Shelby mesh grille will not fit a regular '70 Mustang but does anybody know for certain if it will fit or not?

    Rag Joint Hitting Clutch Z-bar?

I replaced the rag joint on my '70 today and now the flange on the bottom of the steering shaft is hitting the clutch z-bar. I notice that the shaft is high of center as it exits the column tube and this may be why it's hitting but not sure how it moved up. I first removed the two bolts that...

    Need Advice From '69-70 Crowd

Finally got a chance to remove seat risers. They appear to be stock height but still to high. The driver side pan had been replaced and could be the culprit. Sitting new seats directly on floor is much better. Hope to get pan supports and sub frames welded in this weekend. This may be a...

    Subframe Conn Advice

I have the Global West tubular connectors but I'm hoping I can move the traction bars over maybe 1/4" to clear.

    Need Advice From '69-70 Crowd

Finally close to working on risers. Planning on removing risers and replacing with flat pans to connect front and rear pans with tunnel and rocker. Since the Scat seat adapters have some height adjustment, I can adjust the front a little higher than the rear to tilt seat back like it should...

    Subframe Conn Advice

Haven't had a chance to test fit anything yet but wondering if my traction bars might interfere with the subframe connectors. Guess, I can move them outboard enough to clear if they do.

    Subframe Conn Advice

If the car is properly supported under rear axle and under lower control arms, why would I need to move support points after tacking before fully welding?
