    I believe that is because all the factory plastic interior components begin life as grey castings. They are then painted at the factory the correct interior colors. My factory red shifter cosolr shows grey beneath(409 is some harsh stuff). HI WOODSTER! CAR PROJECT IS LOOKIN' GOOD MAN!!!!!!!

    CORPORATE garages(Pepboys and Exxon) are the ones that bone you. In my expierience it is the guy (most often, but not always)who runs his own shop who will look out for you...but I agree it is best to wrench on your own ride...

    Changed the alternator yesterday and no change. C'mon guys why would the car surge rpms at startup then settle down and idle normally, the lose about 150 rpms while sittinng at a light for instance, but still run like a champ? I NEED THE COLLECTIVE MENTAL MIGHT OF THE 2.3L FORUM TO HELP ME...

    That is exactly my plan, build slow "as funds and knowledge allow", but aim high. If I am able to get this block I plan to build for atleast 300 flywheel hp. I agree with you on the donor mill thing, but I don't have the bucks to grab up a turbocoupe right now, there is one in the local paper...
