    Drama with the repair shop...

Do you have a jack, jackstands and a few wrenches? I would just do it yourself next time. It doesn't really take that much to drop a tranny. Plus, you can only blame yourself if something happens or the problem recurrs.

    So my dad....

I agree. Find a basic budget and work from there. If you have several grand to work with, then you can buy about anything. I would go with a kit as far as crank, rods, and pistons. For heads...If you only have 1-2k, then you might look at going with say GT-40P's or '70 Windsor heads...

whooo hooo!!! my car started!! And I saved it!!

Congratulations!!! I don't think they can legally tow it without more notice, unless it's written in a contract you've signed anyways. Regardless, good job and good luck!

    Fox hood latches

Just make sure you latch it good and make sure the safety latch works. I always give mine a good yank after I close it to make sure it's latched. Sometimes it latches, but pops back up. You want to make sure it's greased/lubed every now and then too to keep from sticking. Other than that...

    Drama with the repair shop...

I put a new T/O bearing in the gf's T-bird and had the same problem. It's not that the bearing is going out, but it's slipping between the bearing and pressure plate. Ideally the bearing will spin with the pressure plate. IIRC, they say to put some grease on the front of the bearing to...

Behind bars fuel rails to stock lines and intake clearance

How high is your base FP? If it's not ridiculous, I'd jack it up a couple points and see what happens. Also, where are you looking to shift at? I would think that 6K would be adequate. IMO, if you're going to beef up the fuel system in the near future, just keep your pennies tucked away and...

1993 LX 5.0 Tires rubbing front fenders towards doors?

Are there any other aftermarket suspension parts on it? Maybe somebody put some SVO/Lincoln front spindles on it...

    Measuring AFR with cats?

I could see that...The cats basically just change around the gasses. They convert the real nasty ones to not so nasty ones basically. Checking AFR at the tailpipes isn't very accurate since there could be small leaks in the exhaust system, and the change in heat will affect things also. If...

Anyone got a 93 wiring diagram?

I have the big fold out wiring diagrams from a ford dealership for '92. Not sure if '92 -'93 was the same, but I suspect it's got to be very close.

    advantages/disadvantages of X pipe?

The H vs. X has came up millions of times. As bcmbcmbcm said, sound and a little extra upper RPM is about the only difference.

    Please ID bellhousing!

Yeah, that's a stock 5.0 bell. I always google part numbers. Worked for that one too.

If nothing else take it to a frame shop and have them just check it out.

    combustion chamber sizes?

I don't know about that much HP at the wheels. Your gains are going to come from the intake and rockers, but you'll lose some because of compression. I think you'll maybe gain a few upper end HP, but not 25.

    combustion chamber sizes?

E7's are 64cc and not a clue on standard GT-40's. I suspect they're the same though. The GT-40P's were 60cc however. 4cc's won't bump compression but maybe a half point if you're lucky.

    7.5 or 8.8 rear end?

Check the door tag. That should have an axle code. There should also be a tag on one of the cover bolts on the axle. It will read something like 2L73 8 8 or 3 55 7 5, etc. First series of digits is gear ratio, second set is ring gear diameter. Also, the 8.8 has 4 flat edges on the cover...

    3500 stick

What did you do before this happened? Did you rebuild the motor? I might suspect that you didn't hook up your nuetral safety and your car is hitting the "nuetral rev limit". I don't recall if the Mustang ECU's had that, but alot of cars do.
  18. samickguy15

    What rear end is this?

Should be a 28 spline. 31 splines were in the Ranger and Explorer, along with the full size trucks. The easy way to tell a 7.5 or an 8.8 is that the 8.8 has four flat sides while the 7.5 has two flat and two round sides.
