    Sounds like maybe a bad connection then, if it was truly the switch taking it off and reconnecting it shouldnt have fixed it.

    Mine is 1555.2/yr im 20, have an accident from last year and a ticket on my record. I pay 247 a month for my truck (96 explorer) and my GT. Not bad in my eyes.

    I dont know what kind of kit you used but its definitely not a good one. A good one is simple plug and play. Id return that junk and buy one of these kits, ive had 5 different sets on different vehicles and have loved all of them, never any problems. sharphid.com

    It sounds as if the switch that is supposed to click on and off as you pull the stalk back and release it isnt "undoing" its connection to switch off.

    instead of disconnecting the battery disconnect the headlight harnesses from the bulbs, less of a PITA until you find the problem.

    Im sure they didnt reflash the ecu, it probably had a CEL from running cleaner through it, they probably do what my shop does, run a cleaner through a vacuum line, most likely the brake booster line, into the intake which is actually more of a intake cleaner really but it is marketed as fuel...

    yes it would but it wouldnt look so off due to the fact that the 8 rib would take up more room on the empty side of the pulley. It wouldnt be such a huge gap to make it look as bad.

    It looks as if it is designed to allow you to use an 8 rib setup as well. Which would be a much wider belt compared to our 6 ribs. It looks like it would be normal if it is designed to be able to use 8 rib also.

    There should be some sort of siphon tube going between the two sides, see if you can find it and run something through it to try and unclog it.

    What am I doing wrong (dragstrip question)

    Ive found it works for me to act like im a noob at driving a stick, rev it to like 3000 and slip the clutch while adding more gas, it slips the clutch quite a bit but the car will take off quite quick if you can hold traction.
