    What does it smell like? Sometimes bits of plastic can hit the exhaust then melt on there and it takes a while for it to burn off.

    I generally get about an average of 18 MPG with mostly city driving. However I just did a road trip on I-90 and got 29.7 MPG which was really awesome and that was with an average speed of 69 MPH.

    Quick yes/no question about FRPP exhaust....

    I've got the Ford Racing stingers on a stock H-pipe. They droned a bit at first but they seemed to have broken in and don't drone at all anymore. They sound awesome but I wish they were a bit louder sometimes.

    Brought the car into the dealer today and they fixed the noise. It ended up being the rear of the side-skirt was loose.

    I'll have to check that in the morning FastHorse. I have the Ford Racing Stingers installed which have pretty long exhaust hangers and I don't believe that's the cause of the noise either but I'll double check to be sure. I know for sure that the car wasn't making the noise when I installed them...

    Thanks for the info '06 Stang. I'm pretty sure it's not a gear issue from the sound of it but I'll find out for sure Monday morning.

    That's what it sounds like to me, some part of the exhaust hitting another metal part. However when I get under the car and try to shake the exhaust it seems pretty secure and not loose enough to hit anything :shrug:

    My car had this problem too and I did the exact same thing with my car. You don't even need to bring it in to the dealer to do it. Just crawl under there and in a few minutes you can fix the problem.

    Yeah, I hope it's just something loose that's easy to fix. I'm bringing my car in Monday morning so hopefully they'll fix it fast and I'll post up here what it was.

    Also, sometimes if I go over a really bad bump it sounds like metal hitting metal. My guess is the rear suspension or the exhaust. However I've tried the shake the exhaust and it doesn't move much at all.

    Does anyone else's 'stang clunk when driving slowly (~10 mph) over bad surfaces such as rail road crossings or really torn up pavement?
