    Aftermarket HU Installation Help

Look around on http://www.crutchfield.com. They create MasterSheets for almost every make and model on how to take apart and put together the dash for installing an aftermarket radio, and they include one when you buy your headunit. By chance, the sample MasterSheet on their site, which...

    shaker 500 same old BS

Two years almost on my original equipment Shaker "A". Had a couple disks show up as bad disks, reburned them and they were fine. I use Verbatim Lightscribe CD's so I can burn a nifty label on them, and they do just great. Not once thrown a bad disc on me since I switched to using those.

    i cant help it

Quite the contrary. I have L/T's and a catback on mine and think of it as loud and throaty without being obnoxious. I'd describe it as "controlled power." Noisy? Not at all. I hear the air in the headers and the engine growl (roar if you let it :D ), but not noisy at all.

    torque-curve spacer????

There have been a few threads on both the TB spacers and aftermarket TB's. the aftermarket TB's have been hotly debated, with most thinking them a waste of money for two reasons: (1) the stock throttle body flows more air than the engine can take N/A already, so the extra volume is not needed...

Thinking about purchasing headers... advice needed

The only thing with longtubes is that you'll have to take off that MAC mid-pipe, unless you're willing to do some cutting. Shorties will fit to the MAC mid-pipe, but as others have said, the performance gains from shorties have been shown to be negligible and within the margin of error for a...

Help w/ Long Tube header Decision

I got good gains with JBA's (+30 rwtq). Agree with staying with ceramicoated headers whichever way you go. Really helps keeping the underhood tempsdown, and increases corrosion resistance.

    long tube headers

+10 peak rwhp, +20 over most of the RPM curve. And +31 rwtq. Good enough gains for me!

    drone at 2500rpm?

Not one of the brands you asked about, but the Magnaflows I have on don't drone, either. The L/T's woke it up a little bit :) and it drones a tiny bit at the right RPM, but nothing that you can't get used to (or enjoy!).

    x-pipe for JBA LT Headers

I don't know of any manufactured ones. I went with JBA's matching H-pipe, as you did, according to your sig. If you find one, post it up and let us know!

    4.10's installed-wow!

Glad to hear you're enjoying the new gears! I'm about one step away from pulling the trigger and having Brad's install a set for me as well. As for the gas, I believe the Sunoco at the Auburn Supermall sells 93 octane. Don't know how long a drive that is for you, but if there's one, there's...

    Opinion on Wheel...

Honestly, not a bad design, should look pretty good! If 'twere me, I'd get the same thing in 18", but I suppose they'd work in 20" as well. Post some pics once you get them on the car so we can see the final result!

    Another TCS question

Agreed. There have been two instances where I got it sideways on wet pavement (overloaded the TCS's ability to compensate, I guess). But there have been several where I could feel it compensating for the wet conditions we get here so often. I think they got it just right, enough to keep you...

General consensus- 19" or 20" on the GT?

18's here. Went staggered fit, 18X9 front and 18x10 rear, with BF Goodrich KDW-2 255/45ZR18's front and 285/40ZR18's rear for tires. Handling: More responsive, but a little more loose. The tail is a little more frisky now, but the car feels like it handles much better. Or maybe that's just...

Troubleshoot: Click from shifter when braking in park

This is a known issue and I believe a TSB. I am having mine brought in to have it fixed this coming week. The problem is that the spring that is supposed to pull the handle closed doesn't have enough tension to do the job, and they replace the handle assembly with one that has a stronger...

JBA longtubes: need O2 extensions, yes or no?

Yes. O2 sensor extensions are required, the stock ones are not long enough.

Next Mod on the way. Long Tubes!

There's a write-up on my CarDomain page, but the short version is: peak rwhp gain: +10 peak rwtq gain: +31 Over most of the RPM band, the hp gain was closer to +20, and narrowed at the top to +10 peak. The only thing we did was add a little fuel with the Predator to take care of a slight...

Next Mod on the way. Long Tubes!

I have the same setup (coated LT's with catted H). You'll love them! Added lots of hp and tq, you'll be more than satisfied. Two thumbs up! :nice: :nice:
