Hesitation When Shifting During High Rpm's

Got a slight hesitation when shifting during high rpm's. It doesn't seem to do it any other time. Has anyone else had this issue? I recently installed a Focus SVT fuel pump because of low pressure and fuel bleedoff, but the issue was there prior to that. The plugs and coils are supposedly...

Need Advice On Another Bbk X-pipe Rattle

Hello there, I was wondering what others have done to remedy the rattle that seems to come from these pipes. I made the mistake of buying a barely used BBK catted X-pipe. I like the sound of my exhaust, but it has developed a really bad rattle a couple weeks after I installed it. I've since...

    Suddenly, my clutch feels funny

I can see the throwout bearing making noise and chattering, but I'm not sure that it would make it dificult to change gears. I still think it might be the cable or clutch. I could be wrong though. Does it feel like you have to release the pedal further before the clutch engages? If you push...

Without giving much thought, perhaps it's just your pcv valve?

    Suddenly, my clutch feels funny

Adjusting you cable might help. Maybe it even moved on you, or freyed some. It might just be a coincidence, though, and possibly your clutch is nearing the end of its life. Driving style plays a big role in how long a clutch will last.

    about to install longtubes

Years ago, when I put my Mac's on, there was no way they were going in without lifting the motor. When the motor is lifted up some, you can also tilt it a little or push it to either side of the engine bay some for more clearance. If your motor mounts are not very new, I would suggest spraying...

    Long tube headers and starter

It's worth a shot to make a sheild to see if it will help. It shouldn't take too much time or money. I've been running Mac long tubes for years, though, and have never had a problem.

what to change tires or gears??

Maybe he should try running it out before changing anything. Chances are his tach is not reading correctly. I haven't been to the track in a while, but I've run some of my best times without even looking at the tach, just going by feel. I highly doubt there are many stock tachs that do read...

    traction lok problem

Does sound like a band aid. If you are at all mechanically inclined, just repack the clutches yourself. Doesn't cost that much for the kit.

    Wheel Back Spacing ? for a 5.0

5.5" BS is the best fit. It tucks under the wheel wells nicely. 4.5" BS tends to stick out too much.

School me in the ways of ring and pinion setup

It's been a few years since I've done any, but here's a few things that come to mind: The corral has a good article. 8.8" Gear Installation It's been quite a while but, Randy's Ring and Pinion always seemed like a helpful source. Randy's Ring & Pinion Not sure what differential you...

    Brake Line Leaking

Maybe the threads are messed up on the new wheel cylinder. Surely wouldn't be the first time.

    Brake Line Leaking

If you're sure it's tight, maybe there's a small crack or the flair is messed up. If there is enough line, you could trim a hair off and make a new flair. Brake line bends pretty easy. Not sure, but you might be able to rent the flair tool from Advance Auto, etc.

Longer studs? this my only option?

I have 3" studs on the back and the centercaps for my pony wheels just barely go on. I have to fiddle with them every time until they actually fit ok. I'm not sure what the 99 pony wheels are like, but I would go with the 2.5" or cut the 3" like droptop said.

    Weld draglites or pony rims?

That's a very good deal and they should fit fine and look good too. You might have to lose the quad shocks and possible masage the fender lips a little, but I doubt it. Wider is not always better. A slightly taller tire can have as much or more contact patch than a wider one.

    Weld draglite problem...

I think that's fairly common. I had to grind down the banjo bolts on mine in order for them not to rub.

    Any "old" stangnetters left?

I still stop over every once in a while, but for the most part, I'm never around. I've spent more time working, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle, and being with my family. Life has just become very hectic the past few years. Mark

    Engine Replacing A Heater Core

There is no reason you need to remove the dash completely. I remove the center console, all necessary dash bolts and drop steering column. Pull the dash away from the firewall. Like a couple others have said, remove the two bolts that hold the whole heater core assembly on to the firewall and...

Do pony wheels and center caps fit on with 4" lugs?

The ponys use the acorn lugnuts. I am talking about the 4" long studs that I have on my axles. I know I can mount the wheels, but wondering if the center cap would clear.
