    Just took mine off this week. The only problem i dont get is that people say to leave the top part of the bracket on the car since it holds the pinion snubber stop plate. But i dont see how you can attach it without having the dogbone there also. here is the pic:

    I got 4.10's installed yesterday on my 2002. The shop put in 80w90 premium oil with friction modifier. But talking to a buddy, per the ford mustang manual, his 2000 says use 80w90 premium with friction modifier, but my 2002 says use 75w140 synthetic . Arent all the rear diffs on 99-04 the...

    intermittent rear diffential leak

    Well, found out why it was leaking. Took the car to the shop for some 4.10 gears and when they were installing them, there was no oil slinger. The previous shop forgot to install it, and thats why it was leaking. :notnice:

    5th gear ping or just a rattle?

    I cant tell if its pinging or just a rattle. It doesnt always do it either, but when im on the highway and in 5th gear, and try accelerating from 50 or 60mph, it sounds just like pinging. but then it doesnt do it every time i drive the car even on the same tank of gas, so its kinda confusing...

    yeah, i would love to run those, but motive is the only company that makes them, and other companies just re label with their name, and motive 3.90 gears whine like a bitch. Ive had 3 sets in my car, installed by 3 shops and gave up on them

    The only concern i really have is that i will run out of gear in the 1/4 with my Nitto Drag Radials 305/35/18's and 4.10s, and i really dont want to switch to a taller tire. What trap speed should i expect with 450 rwhp? and what will it max out at in 4th with 4.10's?

    Ive got 3.73 gears right now and it doesnt get me too boost rpm range quick enuf. But i'm afraid that 4.10 might be too much. Anybody have 4.10's with a centri supercharger? I'm running about 450rwhp and Nitto 305/35/18 drag radials.

    getting the car up on 4 jack stands sounds like a beat down, lol. i might just run into a quick lube place and have them check the level.

    Cool, thanks for the tips guys. When checking the rear diff fluid, i assume the car has to be level, but then how do you get underneath to check without a lift?

    Ive never had anybody look underneath my car either. As long as your car isnt throwing any codes/CEL it should pass. Thats wierd that a place would stick a sniffer in the tailpipes, they should only plug into the OBD on a 2002. Ive never had anybody use a sniffer on my 2002

    i have no clue what final drive ratio's mean when it come to tranny's but have always thought about swapping to a 6 spd. Does it just have to do with what RPM it will top out at in each gear?
