Anybody runnin 3.70 gears with original 4 speed toploader?

I guess it is what you want from a car and what you enjoy. I run 3:89 gears with my top loader. 295/50/15 tires, it revs like crazy and I enjoy it. I have dual flowmaster so its not exactly quiet. Solid lifter 289 it'll rev all day long over 4500 rpm and no complaints so far. I have had it on...

    65 Center Driving/Fog Lights

I made my own. I relocated the horns slightly to the outside, mounted a piece of angle iron and put the lights behind the grill. I can't remember the brand I used but I specifically measured the depth of the light so it will fit behind the grill I love them

If I am reading this correctly, you already have the car back. I would strongly recommend having the wheel and studs closely inspected. either yourself or some other shop. Having seen this a number of times... us doing repairs after someone else's mess up. Nearly always, the wheel wobbles...

anybody have trouble with their electric choke sticking?

Quite frankly I can't beleive all you having problems with chokes and you live in the southern states. I'm in Canada, we currently have a foot of fresh snow( no I'm not driving the 65) but i don't have a choke. however most of the issues you have described sound like adjustment issues. the...

    brake line size

brake line size should remain the same, the disc brakes do not require more fluid in the sense of flow. Hydraulic theory is that fluid does not compress therefore there is not dramatic "flow" when you depress the brake pedal.although there is a slight bit as the piston moves. the main reason...

Oil level on 06 GT w/400 miles on it...

The official answer is that if it is within the cross hatched area then it is ok. you are actually supposed to have the specified measured amount of oil in the engine, not necessarily filled right up to the max line

    Why conventional oil before synthetic?

Don't be mislead by most of the crap filters out there, some where, I think on this site, there was a guy who spent a ton of time researching filters. most are junk Do yourself a favor, stick with the motorcraft or at least spend 20 bucks, buy a couple of filters and cut them open. A lot of the...

    Hidden antennas

Just as another option, I have mounted my antenna on the right side A pillar. it is still outside the car, gets good reception and follows the line of the A pillar so it blends in with the car's lines quite well, sorry I don't have any pictures ( and don't know how to post them if I did G

Big Problem with booster installation, search in forum doesnt helped me... PLZ help!

please verify your calculation of vacuum, if it is in fact 14 inches of mercury that is quite low. also check the plastic elbow connection where the hose connects at the booster, most often that elbow is a one way check valve. maybe the vacuum is not staying inside the booster, I also noticed...

    What caused this carnage?

Just my two cents worth but... detonation is the answer I have always recieved from most all engine builders, it seems to be their first line of defense because then it is not their fault. And having said that, any and all cases of detonation I have ever seen, have always had more of an...

Mysterious oil leak on my 289

It is possible that you have a small crack or porous section of the timing cover or something bizarre like that, and the leak only occurs when very warm. the speed of the engine fan would happily blow the oil all over. But instead of guessing and throwing more parts at it, take a trip down to...
