New Here, Just got a 04 GT Today

Love the color! :) All I've done are some appearance mods (I recommend the Grille Delete from MustangTuning.com), but the more I come here, the bigger the urge to do some substantial mods. I doubt you'll be able to keep your hands off for long. In the meantime, enjoy!

    Fox body springs?

I see. So basically there's no free lunch: you get either weight transfer OR handling. I wonder how soft the handling becomes compared to stock. My understanding is that the stock springs are moderately soft -- I've heard that some people put the stock springs back on for the track. Obviously...

    Fox body springs?

How many of you use fox body springs? I've heard some say they use 4 cyl. front and cut V-8 springs on the back. How common is this and what are the advantages over lowering springs (eibach, etc.)? Weight transfer better? Why 4 cyl. springs?

    Cobra Hood

Don't know offhand, but just search "cobra hood 99-04" and you'll see it; there are only about 10 choices. The price is great and they have good buyer reviews. Shipping is $170 though (!). I don't really know if that's high for something as big as a hood, but it brings the price to about $500...

    Cobra Hood

Damn. I don't like that gap. There is a co. on Ebay that has cobra hoods painted to match for $329. I was thinking about that, but I really don't like amount of space between the hood edge and the upper fascia. Oh well. Stalker hood maybe.

    Mach 1 Grille Delete Help

The kit from MustangTuning has two regular old philips screws (look like self-tapping sheet metal screws). I know the torx screws are available so no asshats take your pony, but man, that's a lot o' cash for two screws. You can probably get something similar at a hardware store.

    Mach1 Grill Delete??? huhuh

One possible issue with the aforementioned cover on the grille delete kit: the insert piece is notched offset from center (to the left I believe) to fit around the mounting bracket for the pony. Unfortunately for me, the notch was on the opposite side it needed to be on. So I had to use a...

    Wanted: Bullitt Side Scoop Deletes

Try http://www.ccmustang.com. These are aluminum mesh, and I think they look pretty good -- much better than the plastic honeycomb. Most of the pix show the silver or gold, which I don't like, but they also have black, which I think would look nice. I'm thinking about getting those since I don't...

How many people didn't have problems with their Tremec 3650?

Zero problems. Obviously, there have been enough problems to warrant these types of threads. It is no doubt the notchiest 1-2 shift I've ever encountered, but no grind for me. I've only got 4500 miles though. Time enough for the sucker to go.

    Grille Delete installed! *PICS*

LOL! I did the exact same thing. That wrench is so damn small, it's nearly impossible to keep a grip with the funky angle you have to work with. But the grille-less look is great -- very clean.

Don't Let Idiots Driver Your Mustang

Nice comment jackass. I think the word "mooch" would have been sufficient.

    Window leaking.

I've got the exact same problem on both sides. This seems to be a basic design flaw. It only does it with pressurized water (i.e., when I wash it), and not, thank God, when it rains. It's just a little bit of water in my case, so I just wipe it up as I go. But obviously, I'm a little worried...

    grille delete question????help

The grille delete kit from Mustang Tuning is only $45. I installed mine last week, and the trim piece looks great. It has 4 tabs to fit it and uses 3M double sided tape and 2 rivets to hold it in place. The rivets used are stock, and are originally used to hold the OEM grille and radiator cover...

    Who has "C" Springs in a 99+GT???

I don't have C springs yet, but I want to get them. When I was comparing the Cs to others, I read that they are supposed to have a 1-1.25" drop in the front and a .75-1" drop in the rear. Sounds like they are settling normally. All of the other brands I looked at had even drops front and rear. I...

    Any nice shift knobs?

:NEAR_THREAD_HIJACK: What do you think of the MGW shift handle? I've thought about that, but wasn't sure if it was worth the trouble. Is the adjustable feature a good value? Does the shift feel solid?

    Any nice shift knobs?

gotta agree with the MGW deluxe gripper. Comfortable, good looking, spiffy inlaid pony.

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 99-04 Mustang Gts

I'm not sure that the 04 GTs have 3.55s. I thought that at one point, but I believe the Ford website specs show the GT with 3.27s and the Mach 1 with 3.55s. Not completely sure, but definitely worth confirming.

Finished 99% of my stang mods...New pics

Dig the dash. I'd be way too chicken sh** to tear up my interior though. Looks awesome.

    Whats wrong with YOUR pony?

Window seals leak a bit when power spraying when I wash it. Not when it rains (thank god). Solution: don't power spray windows. Other than that, love it.

How to use touch up paint effectively?

Good timing on this topic. I just gouged my rear bumper yesterday trying to put something in the trunk :notnice: Not too bad, but when I saw it, it was like being punched in the gut. My own damn fault, though.
