    Sorry, I've taken a couple apart but I can't recall. What you are experiancing, if it is too long a push rod, is surprising. The lift difference between an 86 and 87 cam is pretty small so I'd be surprised if the PR's would change much since you are using the original 86 heads.

    If it is a vacuum leak at the engine it will stop as soon as the motor stops since there is no more vacuum. There are some devices that will hold vacuum but the motor will not.
