Need Help With Auto To Manual Conversion

Thanks. I will go re read the Stinger writeup. Got the pedals in, used the set from a 93 5.0 coupe. Had an SVO quadrant. Found the 2.3 bell, remembered it has a bell crank on it. Got a good 5.0 cable and a broke 2.3 cable, so a new one is on order. The speedo cable seems almost too short...

Need Help With Auto To Manual Conversion

Ok, got the brake pedal out of my 89 four cylinder notch today. Where does the speedo cable have to move to? Will a 93 LX 50 clutch pedal and an SVO clutch quadrant work?: Is the four cylinder clutch cable different from a 5.0 cable? Are the firewall adjusters the same. Thanks!

High Volume Oil Pump Worth It?

Having tried both the hv Melling unit and a stock one on the next rebuild, I would stay with a standard pump. The hjv unit, with 10 w 40 oil, maxed out my oil pressure gage on startup, and did not drop much when warm. Dropped to 10 w 30 oil for some relief. The standard one works just fine...

    Head Gaskets

Common Ford and aftermarket small block head bolts have never been torque to yield, and are reusable. Studs would be a good upgrade with boost, and also if the engine comes apart often.

    Timing 101

Ok, guys, I have followed this advise for years, my 82 is set at 8 or 10 because it was set for a small shot. Runs 12.90 or so like this, carbed, na. In an alternate world I visit regularly, people say to run 14 to 18 deg base timing, limit 36 or so, and the 350 in my 66 Chevelle works fine...

Building A 302 Looking For Suggestions

If you have a 28 oz crank, you now have a 28 oz motor and will need matching flexplate and balancer. Stuff from 78 and up is four bolt balancer and will fit your pulleys. Make sure to match the tooth count for the flexplate/flywheel. My 82 seems to run well with an Edelbrock Performer RPM and...

Capri Parts On A 91 Fox Body?

The Capri sheetmetal should fit on the Mustang. However the Capri has four old style sealed beam headlights, the inside door panels may be different. It may take some wiring work and door customizing to make it all fit.

Water Soaking Passanger Side, Cant Find Answer In Other Posts

If the 06 has the same cabin air filter as the 08., then the drain from the cabin air filter clogs ups, and rain pours into the passenger footwell. You may not find the problem until the middle of a thunderstorm. Remove the cabin air filter and clean out the drain on the bottom of the box...

    Harmonic Balancer

The 71 should be a 28 oz balancer and flexplate/flywheel. There are both three and four bolt 28 oz units. My 79 Capri came with a 28 oz four bolt balance. The setup in my 82 is all 28 oz four bolt stuff. The 80 Capri parts car that supplied the K member had a 50oz 255 v8.

    I Gotta A Quoestion. 3.8l To 3.8l Swap

Not that I would go this route because I had some bad experiences with a 3.8 Windstar, but salvage yards seem to be full of 3.8 donors, Mustangs, TBirds, etc. Should be easy to find a compete donor setup.

Anyone Have Experience Of Foxbody Rear Louers

Love them. Have a plastic set on my 79 that's 20 years old. Kinda fragile, but still hanging in there. Got a metal set in one of my parts cars. Keep the car cooler, look good. Only issue is you have to clean under them frequently.

    Need A4ld Transmission Line Help

Easiest is to go to a junkyard and get new lines and fittings. Next is to get some steel line and unions at a parts store and install new sections. I do this on all my at cars to make it easy to get the line out of the way to change starters, pull the tranny, etc.

    68 Engine

Hey all, I usually post in the fox section, but thought this would be good here. I have an engine that seems to check out numbers wise as a 302 four barrel engine from 68. The yard I got it said it came from a 68 Mustang. Got it just for a core to build but may not need. Is this worth more...

Swap Later Ac Into 79 Fox

Wow. Great info. However, the 79 has a York 2 cylinder compressor, and a poa valve style system. Replacement parts are long gone. I have never been able to find a York style serpentine belt clutch in a parts store for example. Last time it was serviced, it still iced up after 10 miles at...
