Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

I've had both the 94vert all the way torn down and a 1995 Cobra. let's hook up and let me take a look at your ride. I could show you a few things and see if everything is on the up and up.

Will 2 cars with the same quarter mile be equally fast?

:nice: Higher mph means you have more power. To me, more power is the winner, and more fun if you ask me. My 2004 Cobra was a good example of this. I only ran on street tires, not even drag radials, so I wouldn't break anything. Still I had a blast driving it. 11.8 @ 119 mph! To me...

Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

My 1994 Vert with 5 speed stock ran 15.1 @ 88 mph. Gears 3:73's, cold air, h-pipe, cat back, I was 14.2 but at 96 mph. So it seems that auto makes a bigger difference on the mph if anything.

LOL!! Shouldn't you be posting on TPH!!! LOL!! :SNSign: I actually just kinda started reading some posts on here. I come back every now and again. Street racing in Houston is not what it used to be. :flag:

Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

I'm a member of Htownracing, HPD, fearlessperformance, etc. I've been in Houston, "street" racing for over 7 years. It is harder now than ever. Screen names are ViperBlueCobra and RU SURE go do some searches...**** here is a video of me in my cobra 8 months back... Click here to see...

    First impression & upgrades?

Honestly, I think the "lean" back you feel is worse in the convertibles. Mine does it really bad as well, compared to a buddy of mine's coupe. Congrats on the car. My recommendations for mods. Only do ones that are reversable and keep your stock parts. If you have problems, put it back...

    Glass Roof in a GT500?

Nice!!! I went the other way though, top down!

    Top Gear: Shelby GT500

This is true. I'd put money that my 2004 Cobra could walk circles around the new gt500. But put them next to each other. The cobra looks out dated and old. Then the GT500 has more potiential. Anything you do to 2003-04 Cobra ,you can do the same to the GT500 and it will be faster...

    The Saleen PJ edition.

I love the body kit. Doest anyone know if it's available yet. I've e-mailed saleen with no luck. I called my local saleen dealer and they couldn't answer my questions. I just picture that body kit on my vert, and it makes me weak in the knees.

    Top Gear: Shelby GT500

I've gotten wind of the same, but also look for 400 hp plus car as well. I also heard a rumor that the SS camero will have the ls7 motor!!! I guess only time will tell.

    Top Gear: Shelby GT500

The only reason the 03-04 cobra are currently holding value, is the GT500. Before the gt500, they were a lot cheaper. I know this because that's how I got 2004 Cobra. And when I traded it in back in november, they gave me more for the car than what I paid. The market flexes based on the...

    Top Gear: Shelby GT500

You do know that SVT aimed the cobra at the corvette? With knowledge of the camaro / ta going out, they decided the vette was the next victim. Dubbed the Terminator and vette killer for the 2003-04 Cobra's. And it was. The vette would bearly beat 03-04 cobra around a track, and the cobra was...

    Top Gear: Shelby GT500

I wish I could order an SVT Cobra, not a Shelby GT500. I bet the price would drop to msrp in a heart beat. Thanks FORD for putthing Shelby's name on the car!! Fockers!! I just want the car, I don't want the badging. Shelby didn't do any of the development. He signed off on the car and sold...

    Top Gear: Shelby GT500

Again, apples to apples. You stated "used" 05-06. Go purchase a brand new 2007 GT with factory supercharger, upgraded brakes and suspension, body kit, etc. AKA Saleen / Roush and the price is about the same as the GT500 except you have a smaller motor, 5 speed tranny and less potiential...

    Top Gear: Shelby GT500

Yes, but there you said it. Whipple kit and forged internals. The price for labor, parts and tuning can cost you easily 10K. Then what type of warranty would you have? And once you forge the 3v v8, how much power can you get? The idea behind the GT500 is the "hard stuff" is done for you...

Why buy GT500 over Saleen PJ?????????

That is awesome, congrats!! Back to the topic. I would purcahse the GT500. larger motor, more valves, supercharged, six speed, done.

Trying to purchase a GT500 for MSRP

I live in the Woodlands, and my buddy works the parts counter at Gullo ford. Funny as I think he's getting the samething done to his 2004 Mustang. Long tubes and h-pipe.

Trying to purchase a GT500 for MSRP

I could afford to puchase 45k, but not 65K. 45K is actually the most I want to spend. Oh well. I'll just spend some money on the vert, buy a blower or something, that should hold me off for a year.
