    Edelbrock carbs

This may have already been mentioned. Was looking at new boss manifold and noticed that Edelbrock has a DVD on tuning their carbs. Price = $00.00, free.

Help trying to identify a Holly carb?

The average speed shop in your town should have a book on rebuilding holly carbs. Search the internet including hollys' sight to help on carb id. A basic rebuild is easy just do the one thing that men hate to, read the instructions before you tear it apart. If you have a digital camera take lots...

    New Manifold

Shoot them an email. A couple of days ago I contacted them about what I thought was a dream. I expected to get the usual " Doesn't fit in with our corporate plans." Instead I got emailed a part number for this manifold of my dreams. All these manifolds talked about are popular engine combos and...

    New Manifold

Looks sweet. Summit was the only one I found listing this manifold, you need to punch in #7129 on search to find it.

    New Manifold

I read in one of the car rags a few months ago that the track boss has been out production for quite some time. If you contact the guys selling Cleavor engines they don't sell intakes and tell you about adapters, shop on ebay etc. I think if some one had a supply of these they would be selling...

    New Manifold

I don't know how you heard of this manifold. It's not on the web sight and haven't even seen it in any of the car rags. To find it on Summit had to search with part # 7129 that was emailed to me. I agree on the CHI heads. I'm hoping this manifold is similar to the stock boss 302, and will...

    New Manifold

Update boss 302 Tried to get more details on the new manifold. The only thing they told me is they are up dating their web sight and should be on it in a few days. The part for me about this new manifold is it is for small port heads and maybe they will make it with enough meat to open up to...

    Inner apron welds???

Never welded shock towers but weld cracked frames many times. Must drill hole at the end of the crack. Properly done and added support should be no problem. If mine I would weld it.

    New Manifold

I had been toying with the Idea of Making a 331 boss engine. The main obstruction has been the expensive intake and large ports of of 4bbl. heads for street use. A couple of days ago I asked Edelbrock if they ever thought of making a manifold that would use their cleveland heads [2bbl. port size...

    Vin# Info "S"-"A"

I've heard of this several times in the past. Usual reasons are last second engine changes, strikes and just plain screwups. Sounds like you have a legit car with a cool story.

    What are these?

Chastity belt? Looks like srtips of glazing compound. If it is it would be used between the tank and body or under fenders etc. Is it kind of like clay? I've only seen it come rolls.

Hard Starting: Looking for possile leads...

Check for a sticking float. I rebuilt a carb and had the same issue. Turned out the new float tabs would hang up now and then. A little grinding solved the problem.

    Sealing Differential

The copper washers are a seal. Use new ones. I use Permatex #2 non hardening and the gasket. IMHO the third member sits deeper without the gasket and puts a small amount of miss alignment on the axles. A little thread sealer on filler and drain plugs help.

Random dying and backfire in 66 289

Check for loose ground wires or even just crusty mounting spots. I even had a brand new car that did the same thing. The dealer couldn't figure out the problem after several day long check outs. Turned it had a loose battery post. Started and ran fine till I hit bump just right and went instant...

Valve stem seals part number Cleveland?

Both intake and exhaust valves are 11/32 stems. Never heard of two sizes on a cleveland. You might look at installing some of the newer after market seals instead of stock replacements. Should last much longer. Most of these need an installation tool to keep from tearing them up. If the heads...

NEXT THING ON THE TO DO LIST..

I'm sure they will work on our old cars. Just need power and ground. I to will be looking for a good alarm soon. One I think called Lojack, even has gps locater and from what I hear is the one thing that the cops will actually look for a stolen car. I've actually saw a stereo get ripped off in a...

    Edel Carb

I forgot another sin. The Edelbrock carbs are set up to run on 7psi max fuel pressure. Holley pumps run 8psi. I got caught on that one.

    ignition

Hayfire is a digital box. The equivilent is the digital-6. Prices are out of my latest Summit book. Might be some better deals on the net. Just offering up a less expensive alternitive if one doesen't need all the other goodies that can plug in the MSD. I agree the digital is the way to go no...

    ignition

Just looked at my summit wish book. The digital MSD stuff sure does look alot like the mallory. MSD digital-6 = $319.88, Mallory hayfire 6al [has rev limiter] = $175.95 . If you don't need rev limiter $125.95. Even the part numbers are kind of simmiler. IMHO all the bells and whistles...
