    With the ribs on the smooth water pump pully, i bet its sliping some or the revs flow doesn't cool well enough. When engines are hot they dont run as well especially as hot as yours is running. When my engine gets above the 1/2 way mark on the factor temp, it runs about a .1 slower.

    yeah you have a 302 HO. Unless it's a 351 in wich case even better.

    if it's not a 302 and it's a v8 then that's good, means its bigger than 302. Or I guess it could be a 4.6 who would put that much work into it? What is the firing order that will tell if it's an HO.

    you can get a cobra upper and lower for under 300 and the exlorer upper/lower for well under 300 also. Look into those.

    You could install one of the intake spacers for lonwer intake runners, that is suposed to move the power band down a little.

    Like maverick said, your tach is off. If it's a factory tach and you're only off 500 rpms in the 5000 range, I think you're in good shape. And yes your 4th gear is 1:1 Oh and advantage of my lower gears is I can to 120 in 3rd (only advantage)

    Thx, for the info... I did some custom fabrication to make the stock stang radiator fit because the tbird radiator is very small. The stock voltmeter works very well. I was thinking of a vac gauge just so I could raise my mpg, but it's not really necessary, but fun to play with to.

    Either coolant temp sensor or something else that plugs into the lower intake... Air temp sensor. Or the one above... I don't have one of those.
