    Hood Hinge Problems

Mine were toast too, I purchased a set from these guys and was very happy. SMS-Auto I then came across the Ring Bros. units and could nor resist, these are beautiful and really look nice. Other than the cost the only negative comment is the hood does not open ad far as with the factory style...

    just put in some HID's

I am almost certain that OEM HID lights are mounted on a motorized gimbel mount. They adjust to the proper angle when the car is started in order to keep from blinding the on-coming vehicles. When I start my car in the garage the lights turn on and quickly point up and then down, then settle at...

Rod ends, how do they survive without lube?

I decided not to take any chances, I used rod ends for my throttle linkage, I have a bumpsteer kit that uses them and I'm getting ready to install CalTracs. Summit has these and I've used them and will put them on the CalTracs just to be sure. Here is a link to the part, Seal it

    Torque converter

He told me the same thing and I took his advice, no additional cooler. His words were something like "if you drive it like you stole it everyday, add a cooler". Three years later I have had no problems, I do have a finned aluminum pan with 2 quart extra capacity.

    power windows

Looking at what Summit offers, I would be hard pressed to buy the universal kit over the direct bolt in ones from Electric-Life. For the extra $40 you spend, you get something that fits without modification and will work without issue. Here is the kit I used, Electric Life Here, I think...

Is there an EFI tank for '66?

I keep going back and looking at these, Tanks but I just can't justify the cost. I have one pump, an external from Walbro like the F150 style mounted just in front of my tank. No sump, no secondary tanks, and no starvation either. I just keep the tank above the 1/4 full level and I've never had...

Oil Pressure - Schematic of oil route on a 302 block

The pressure switch either reads the pressure before or just after the filter. It would read the pressure prior to the point that the oil is in a position to lube a bearing. I'm pretty sure the crank gets oil first, camshaft is second, then the lifters. The oil in the lifters passes thru the...

    MagnaFlow Wide Open Exhaust

Given the size of your engine, you will have no need and receive no benefit from the 3" kit. The 2 1/2 kit is more than enough, there are some sound clips at the Magna Flow web site. This is such a subjective thing, what sounds just right to some is far too loud and dronnes to others. That...

    MSD Ignition 8352

Not that it will make much difference, but I would choose the Blaster 3. The connection at the top of the coil is the same as what is on the cap of your new distributer, male HEI type connection. That might make it easier when selecting spark plug wires.

Empty Carb Bowls & Long Starts- ideas to remedy this?

You could add a check valve to the fuel line somewhere between the pump and the carb. The valves in the fuel pump have to be working correctly, if they were not your fuel pressure would be at or near zero. Both valves in the pump cannot be open at the same time either.

Empty Carb Bowls & Long Starts- ideas to remedy this?

It sounds like evaporation to me. You live in an area with a relatively high ambient temperature, there is no evaporative emission equipment on your car. The vents of the fuel bowls are open to the world, very easy over the time given for this to happen. I don't buy the fuel pump check...

    Exhaust Smell in Cabin

Check your firewall plugs and seals. I had the same problem and found the seal around the lever for the throttle did not seal tightly around the shaft. Once i sealed that up the smell went away.

Lojack for classic cars? Costs/is it possible/etc?

Here is another alternative, GPS Cheap compared to the Lojack and as a plus you can move it from car to car should you ever want to "keep your eye" on someone.

    Trunk lift conversion

I've been thinking about this, I found a source for gas lifts that has charts giving left pressure, compressed and extended length, different options for mounting, and instructions on selecting and mounting them correctly. See it here, Gas Lifts I looked at the kits offered and didn't like...
