    347 w/ boost???

12 lbs is PLENTY for the street. Consider changing the cylinder heads to a larger cc combustion chamber to reduce compression, rather than going into the bottom end. Vic jrs--70cc have done just this for me in the past. As far as the turbocharger model, others would have more up-to-date info...

    347 w/ boost???

Oh yea,.... I have not had too much luck with the 347s under boost regarding reliability and longevity. The 331 seems to be a much better platform to boost from.

    347 w/ boost???

With an intercooler,...probably 12-15 lbs on pump gas with a conservative tune. But there's other qualifiers to this: what's the specs on the cam? Overlap? Piston rings? Piston design? Forged? Exhaust system? etc.......

    427 stroker motor with blower

I run 92 octane pump gas on a 393 stroker with 10 lbs of boost. The induction system is blow-through, with a bonnet rather than the carb enclosure. I've retarded the ignition timing to 28 total, and it's a regular street driven car. Static compression ratio is 8.8:1 RWHP is 574, RWTQ is 592 at...

    Carb experts...need recomendation

Most of the strong street 351s seem to like size 69 primary jets, and the short yellow spring in the secondary vacuum diaphram when using a 4160 750cfm. I've have very good luck with the above combination

help installing tremec 5spd 67 mustang

My 68 FB has a 351 with a 3550 Tremec. I shimmed up the rear trans on the mount about 1/4 inch--no issues with the tunnel, but I'm running electric fans.

How do you diagnose your ignition system?

Sorry, for the short answer, I've only got about 1 minute. Check the primary circuit--coil, wires to and from it, make sure the petronix is gapped about .045 or so. try another coil for testing purposes.

If this were your car, what would you check??

Fuel filters? dirt/water in the float bowl, or carb?

    blower q's

I don't think they do. Procharger has a kit for a small block chevy, with a crank pulley, and I usually make a mounting bracket with a manually adjustable idler pulley, rather than buy their $270 bracket. Ducting is non-specific for year and model, and bonnets can be sourced separately.

    Back up lights

Driver's side of transmission- 2 pronged switch. Looks like a small mushroom.

How do you diagnose your ignition system?

Tall order. Put a timing light on each plug wire one at a time to see if secondary spark is being produced at the cap. Slowly rev the engine up to about 2500 RPM on each test to ensure that the spark is consistant and not erratic. Visually check each spark plug for any kind of damage. Use a...

Went to the track last night....

That's a real good 60'. Are you still on leaf springs? Leaving at RPM?

Why does my car shift so early

Same size, shape, adjustment, vacuum hose, etc., but on the passenger's side of the transmission. Always check the fluid levels when troubleshooting any kind of hydromechanical unit---power steering, transmission, rear differentials, etc. It sounds obvious and stupid, but almost 50% of the...

Why does my car shift so early

On the FMX, it's on the back driver's side of the main housing. It looks like a medium sized gold mushroom with a vacuum hose going to it from the intake manifold. If you pull the hose off the modulator, inside the stem of the modulator, there will be a small allen screw. Turn yours...

Why does my car shift so early

Try adjusting the vacuum modulator valve. A few turns with an allen wrench, and it might make a big improvement.

what kind of compression do you run?

I've ran a few mixes of tolulene with 92 octane, but it seemed that the ratio, be it 10:1 or higher had to be THOROUGHLY mixed, so just pouring it in a tank I didn't think was the best method. Turco seemed to be much easier to work with and more consistant.

    blower q's

It depends on how much power to intend to make, regarding the induction system. With a 5.0 block, I would not suggest that you go for 600 RWHP, as the block will be stressed to the point of unreliability. Also, second gear in a standard T5, or even a T5Z, will not last that long with alot of...

what kind of compression do you run?

10.5 :1 is too much for a blower, unless you want to be a slave to ADI alcohol injection, and intercooling. To spend the $$ and only realize 5 lbs boost is not really worth it. I also agree that you lower the CR. I'm running 8.8:1 CR and 10lbs of boost on 92 octane-- no issues

    Stroker Kit?

Good plan. The last stroker I got from coast for a 69 windsor block, they hosed. Pistons were for the later taller deck hight windsor, so were main bearings,(tab on the wrong side), and after specifically requesting a Scat crank, they included an RPM model. .020 off the tops of the pistons to...
