    I don't have a Pertronix, but I read where it is important that the distributor base plate (what the Pertronix unit mounts to) is grounded. I haven't had a stock distributor in so long, I can't remember if the factory distributor has a ground wire. Maybe someone with a Pertronix could chime in.

    What type of work? Do you have an electric fan now? What type of accessories did you add? Try pulling any relays if you added any. You may be getting voltage feedback to the ignition circuit even after shutting off the ignition switch.

    Did you wire it correctly? The top is the wiring for the old starter and the bottom is the re-wire for the mini-starter.

    What ignition do you have? Stock points & coil? Check the wire from the I terminal on the solenoid. It ties into the coil Pos circuit pink resistor wire and should give full 12v to the coil, but ONLY when cranking.
