    2.3L to 5.0L, how hard?

No, I haven't.. I can imagine that must be a pretty darn impressive ride. Not knocking it at all. I'm just saying that if one is starting from a stock 2.3 N/A, it is my opinion that a 2.3 turbo swap is a better option than a 5.0. Unless you are shooting for really high HP (IE, forced induction...

    2.3L to 5.0L, how hard?

Without very much work, a 2.3 can easily beat a stock 5.0. Yep, fairly fast.

    2.3L to 5.0L, how hard?

Have you ridden in a Mustang with a fully ported 2.3 turbo engine running 20+ lbs of boost? I have plenty of power when I want it, and I also have great fuel economy when I want it.

Sure, in _theory_ the stock grounds should be enough. However, theory and reality on 17+ year old cars are often not the same. I build my car in reality.

I was poking around on the TF archives tonight, and looky what I found... http://www.turboford.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000223 Just some more info/data on the ground issue.

I'll be glad to help with what I can.. that was my intention on the ground strap thing.. just offering my opinion and experiences and then gio_mamma.. well, you read all that. Anyway, good luck with your project, and if you have questions, post them up.

Speaking of hints.... I guess you didn't get mine, huh? Maybe I should spell it out for you. Like I stated earlier in a reply that you didn't read very carefully, neither of us will convince the other is right or wrong, so who cares? You'll keep doing them your way, and I'll keep doing them my...

I'm not totally relying on the butt dyno... I'm also talking about the ear dyno. It sounds a lot smoother. And how is using 1 extra ground strap grounding every single piece of metal? Well, actually it is close to doing that, but not literally. Anyway, enough thread jacking. You have your...

Here ya go --> http://store.racinglab.com/whishygrsy.html I am not a big fan of imports, but I have learned to appreciate them. A guy I know decently well at school who installed the above kit on his 03 Mitsu Lancer. He said he could definitely feel a difference. Also keep in mind that with...

Dr, I know what you're talking about.. KD Tools makes a tool that works great for our engines, but it's $50. Being in the DIY TF style, I welded up my own tool, and it works great for as little as I needed it. I have about $10 in materials and about 1.5 hours of labor in it. In a pinch, you can...

Looks good! I made a ground strap/cable out of a welding cable. I soldered lugs on the ends of the cable. I bolted one lug to the fender and one to the engine block. Did seem to idle a bit better. Cost me about $6-7 to make.

WTF my 220k engine runs like crap with 184 PSI

How old are your plugs and wires? Are the pluggs gapped correctly? How old is the PCV valve? Oil filter cap tight? Dipstick make a good seal? Any vacuum leaks? You say it's carb'd? I don't know a thing about carbs (thankfully). And why do you want a 5.slow? Edumacate yourself on the 2.3...

    2.3 Turbo

My videos are online at http://www.binaryweb.com/88lx/video/ The drag strip videos are horrible.. I really can't launch for anything, and floating valves didn't help much! 1st gear was pretty touchy.. too little gas and I would bog. Too much gas, boost would build like a rocket, I'd roast the...

    2.3 Turbo

You'll need some forged pistons.. you currently have cast pistons. Assuming your block is ok and you can get away with just a hone, then you can get used stock pistons for under $100, usually. You'll also need larger injectors (35lb brown tops) from other Ford factory turbo cars. You'll also...

Dude, you just bent over, spread your cheeks, and said "shove it right here!" Seriously, it's morons like you that are totally not helpful that make me dislike this forum. In this thread, the phrase "it sucks" absoutely does not refer to our cars. It refers to this forum and the quality of...

I definitely hear you on this one.. I hardly ever read here on SN. There's hardly anything here that I can learn something from. I don't mind helping out newbs, but that's pretty much all there is here. I am a very heavy lurker on turboford, and I post when I think I have some intelligent to...
