Aquestion on the aero nose Mustangs

I've seen a few cases in which someone has put a Capri front end on a newer fox. I think it would be really close to a bolt on. I have considered putting a 4-eyed front on mine, but I just can't make up my mind. I like 'em both.

    Project HP. 150 HP in a N/A

In my opinion, it's pretty much all in the head. Port that head really well and shave a lot off to raise the compression. I think the intake manifolds will be up to the job, and should be able to flow enough air. Definitely go with some sort of exhaust header. The Ranger header is the easy...

My LX, the jackstand queen, a few pictures - continue bashing me on my timeline

Looks good! I can't wait to hear how it runs. Hopefully you'll have less leaks and small elusive annoying problems than I did when you fire it.

    fuel rail ?

The valve on the fuel rail is 1/16th" NPT. Look around at Lowe's or Home Depot. I'm sure you could find a ball valve and some converters tha would work for you.

    Volvo FMIC intercooler years...

If I understood your question right, you asked that for now will an intercooler improve anything on a N/A engine... answer to that one is no. How can you cool off ambient air (intake charge) with an intercooler that uses ambient air for heat transfer?

    rotating intake? huh?

I'd never run a DP DIS head on a turbo engine. That head flows very poorly, and does not have enough material to be able to port it enough so it does flow well. Many people on turboford are using them, but I pretty much see it as starting with a handicap from the get-go. Just my opinion.

    rotating intake? huh?

Since you are swapping, I would assume you'll be using the square intakes. It would be a huge pain to rotate the inline upper for the 91-93 DIS engines. Here's a pic of my rotated upper on my turbo engine. If you are using an aftermarket front mount intercooler, it may be beneficial to rotate it...

    Stock temp gauge wire

Crap.. I guess I was thinking of the ECT in regards to affecting the idle. Thx for the info.

    Stock temp gauge wire

Does the coolant temp sender in the side of the block (a few inches under the oil sender) send a signal to the computer, or is that strictly for the gauge?

    EGR delete

I've tossed it on a 93 n/a, an 88 n/a, and now my 88 turbo engine. No problems have resulted from it. I like it simply because there's less stuff in the way when I go to try to work on my engine.

I uploaded some pics here The mod job to get the IC moved back some is not pretty, but it sure works!

Max boost is different in different gears?

I don't think the spring is strong enough to control it. Today before I left, I got to drive the stang around and noticed a few new things. 2nd gear builds to 22psi and stays for the duration of the gear. 3rd build up to 22psi but quickly drops down to 20. 4th does the same as 3rd. So why would...

Max boost is different in different gears?

I might just order one so I'll know.. then I'll have it around when I need it later on. I think they are $5 plus shipping, so that's not too bad.

haha yeah I'm squeezing it pretty well, but I think there's a bit more left in 'er! jman_b13, that's crazy.. what turbo and intercooler are you running? I think part of it is the volume of of the IC and pipes that it has to fill. Compared to 3600, full boost at 3300 is just great! Homwever it...

Max boost is different in different gears?

Yes, I have probably 3 to 4 seconds which is enough time for me to make a visual pass on the gauges. The time in 2nd should drop a fair amount after I go back to a 3.73 ring and pinion. I will see what it says in 4th tomorrow at full boost.. Even if 3rd, 4th, and 5th all see the same boost, that...

    Updates

This past week I built a little contraption that allowed me to pressure test my intercooler pipes and my intercooler with the air compressor. I found 6 pinhole leaks in my pipes and 1 pinhole leak in the intercooler. I got all those welded shut, which needless to say helped spool time. Now I get...

Max boost is different in different gears?

After figuring out some problems and getting more fuel (see update in talk), I turned the boost up. 2nd gear builds boost to 22psi and stays there rock solid for the whole duration of the gear. No boost creep or spikes. So, then I shift to 3rd. It holds rock solid at only 20psi, no creep or...

Will the T5 from a 5.o work in the 2.3 turbo?

I agree with svoman.. not saying those specs above are wrong, but they are not the same as the multiple charts I've seen around the web.

AMP Light - what exactly does it indicate?

Today I went by the Zone to get the battery and alternator checked. They were so busy I had to wait about 25 minutes before anyone was free to check it. As it turns out, the battery is bad. :( That sucks, because I have to drop the gas tank to get the battery out. I hated Summit's battery...
