    Buying Mac Longtubes 1 5/8th" any opinions?

    Im buying a set of Mac Longtubes 1 5/8th inch with 2.5 inch collector, now ive heard that their quality is hit or miss,,, does anybody else have these longtubes installed on their car? How is the fitment? Ive heard of some problems with rubbing on the steering? oh its a 1989 GT 5 speed. thanks

    its not that it is hard to shift into certain gears, its just very stiff and notchy going into the gears, sometimes where it takes a second or two to put it into the gear. No grinding except reverse. I think im going to change the tranny fluid with some Redline and see if that helps to smooth...

    i have the pro 5.0 and dont miss any shifts, great shifter.. only thing,, im not sure if its the shifter, or the clutch. but its VERY notchy, and sometimes a little difficult to get into the gears, especially when im trying to bang the gears, i really have to pull on that shifter pretty...

    wow, those are the sportsman? those things scream! and have a nice deep rumble at idle... i think ill get the pro street with tailpipes... the tailpipes should quiet it down a tad but with the pro streets it should be just as loud if not more so :flag:

    wow that thing sounds mean,, it has a kinda tinny sound at idle tho, but once its given some gas, it sounds CRAZY :nice: very nice,,, any sound clips of it not dumped? id really like to hear more clips :flag:

    thats what i heard,, the one guy told me thing Mustang5l5, that at 70 mph in 4rth he turns 3,700 rpm and he has 3.73's so if i have 4.10s at 70 i should be turning 4,100 and if i have 3.55's ill be turning 3,550 if thats correct

    hey bro, could you tell me what RPM's your turning at certain speeds? Im trying to figure out what gears i have in my rear. im turning 2,000 RPM at 55 in 5th gear if you know what RPM's your turning at different speeds in 5th and could post that to help me out it would be awesome :banana:

    i remember in my 94 i had the same problem, i pulled the radiator cap and started the car, i would get a pretty big bubble every 3 seconds or so, and the level would keep rising up...

    i think you need an 81.5" belt... thats what i heard others are running. i plan on doing the same thing as you. A/C eliminator and using the ford racing kit to move the P/S pump up. and then bypassing and eliminating the smog pump. if you do pick up the 81.5 and it works great let me...

    i have a set of BBK chrome Equal Length... i dont really have anything else to judge them off, but i like them =)
