Alright, lets talk about subframe connectors

Sorry. It's not obvious to me yet. Clarify what you/he means by "all over the place". Does that mean each Mustang frame is different? Like they are all lined up different? What is it in the design of the MM ones that makes it a better fit over the LMM set? We're talking about the subframes...

Alright, lets talk about subframe connectors

They didn't come thru for me. I don't see the pics. Now you're adding conditions. If you're gonna add "proper welding" as a condition in the equation, then whoever installs the LMM seat brackets can add optional weld points to make it even stronger and beefier. We can add conditions to the...

Alright, lets talk about subframe connectors

LMM ones have these torque box support plates. The plate you see actually wraps up towards the Lower Control Arm. It increases the contact area on the rear subframe. MM ones have a such a small contact area. Here's what the seat brackets look like. With MM, you get a strip of metal and 8...

    Tuner for my Mods?

Yes. You don't need certain mods to benefit from an aftermarket tune. The factory tune is very conservative.

    x-cal 2 an user programming

If "tim" put the tune on your Xcal (in addition to your car) and "tim" enabled end user adjustments, then you can tweak the one that's in your Xcal and download that into your car. You will wipe out the one that's in your car. If "tim" put two or three copies of the tune into your Xcal, and...

    X-Cal 2

You can benefit from the canned tune now. If you're gonna buy it later for a custom tune, why not buy it now and enjoy the canned tune?

Alright, lets talk about subframe connectors

Laurel Mountain Mustang. They have better construction than MM. The seat bracket supports are made from a single piece of metal. MM comes in 8 little pieces you have to weld. LMM also has a larger contact area in the rear. It better supports the torque box.

What RPM's give full charging with Steeda UD Pulleys? With stock or Steeda Alt pully?

I checked with vendors of aftermarket hi-output alternators before. The turn-on RPM was like 700-950 RPM. That's the RPM where they start charging. Below that, nothing. The stock alternator was lower than than. Something like 650 or 685. Look at it this way, you're either at idle or...

Changing brake pads: Do you turn the rotors?

I'd go with the BuyFordRacing ones. They sell the OEM Cobra brake kits to put on GTs.

Engine code points to the cats?

The SLP High Flow cats are probably not as efficient at cleaning the air as the stock ones. What's the code?

Just bought 18" wheels, how off will the speedo be?

Check the time manufacturer's website. They'll publish a rotations per mile figure. Compare your stock tires to the new tires. Probably nothing to worry about.

Changing brake pads: Do you turn the rotors?

I didn't put the new pads on yet. But I still decided it wasn't beneficial to have non-scored rotors resurfaced.

Changing brake pads: Do you turn the rotors?

I decided not to get the rotors resurfaced. I read stuff that said one side effect of resurfacing rotors is you have less disc to absorb the heat, which makes it more susceptible to warping. That to me was a bigger (-) than just having a smooth surface for the new pads. If my rotors were scored...

So I've heard 4.10's with an automatic, 3.73 with manual but why?

I was afraid 3.73s would be a half-ass mod and something I would regret. I'm glad I went with 4.10s and I have no regrets. It's not all about racing either. It also enhances city driving. 4.10s made the car feel like a 1000 lbs lighter. There's less strain on the motor and drivetrain because...

    J-Mod Question

Wow! That is the first time I've seen that. Everything else for the past few years has been "I heard..." or "They say..." Thanks.

So I've heard 4.10's with an automatic, 3.73 with manual but why?

How so? If you put 4.10s on an auto, 1st gear would end up with a 3.56 gear ratio. That's only a small advantage over the 5 spd's stock 1st gear of 3.38.

So I've heard 4.10's with an automatic, 3.73 with manual but why?

    I looked all over. Wikipedia had them. <roll eyes> 4r70w (auto) 1st: 2.84 :1 2nd: 1.55 :1 3rd: 1.00 :1 4th: 0.70 TR3650 (5 spd) 1st: 3.380 :1 2nd: 2.000 :1 3rd: 1.320 :1 4th: 1.000 :1 5th: 0.620 :1 Looking at 1st to 3rd, the 5 spd has lower gear ratios compared to the auto. In 1st gear...

So I've heard 4.10's with an automatic, 3.73 with manual but why?

If I remember right, it was something like the auto has a higher final drive so you can afford to go with the lower gears. Did you find what the final drive ratios are for the 5-spd and the auto?

    J-Mod Question

I have not seen any credible data on this idea of breaking something by shifting into 4th at WOT. I still think it's a myth.

Installed steeda UD pulley now have starting issue HELP please

Coincidence maybe? Put the stock pulleys back on and see if that is really what caused it. Or, put the alternator pulley on so the belt will be tighter.
