what ford vehicles can donate the 5 lug conversion?

Follow Matt's list from the previous link provided. There are plenty of axle parts in the junk yard and the Rangers, Bronco II's, and Aerostars work fine for keeping your stock track. I used Matt's list and have the rear drum setup off the Aerostar due to availability in my area. Not ready to...

    advise on intake install

Agreed! I use the high temp RTV and use it on the front and back and only on any pitted areas. Now I use the aluminum gaskets and they seal alot better. Throw the cork out and just use RTV. The cork will not stay in place on install and leaks 95% of the time. It also helps to check the bolts...

How to take off TB and EGR spacer?

I just did the same thing. If you can get another nut on the end of the stud you can use the original nut to back the bolt out. I had one break off and had to beat the heck out of the spacer and use a pry bar to get it off. i went to Home depot and bought repacement bolts using one of the nuts...

    STeam cleaned engine

It looks good, but on a high milage care with stock cork gaskets you can turn a little project into a nightmare. I did a high pressure was on one of my cars back in high school. It lookes awesome when I was done, but my valve covers and intake were leaking oil all over the place over the next...

Need any easy question answered quick please!!

I used to work at a sign shop and for $5.00 you can have them cut them exactly the way you want them out of vinyl. It's cheaper than paying shipping for something you are not sure is what you want.

Here's a strange problem for you to solve!

Welcome to the wonderful world of the FOX Mustang. There is no end to the things that can break and will. Sounds odd unless the line was in a bind or was damaged during the overhaul while it was off the motor. I have seen them set on the K member and get the line kinked or pinched when someone...

    Car no start..NEED HELP!!

I agree on the starter. Two bolts and it's off. Take it up to the local auto parts store and let them bench test it. Looks like you have replaced most everything else. Also make sure that your grounds are good. I had a similar sounding problem and after repalcing everything it was a bad starter...

    LOST KEYS....no spare....NOW WHAT??

If this is the original ignition you have several options. The vin may allow them to cut you a new set at the dealership. Also all of the cars came with a metal placard in a plastic pocket in the original owners manual with the key code stamped in it. If you are not the original owner...

Tips and tricks to wire hiding?

Here is one of the best examples I have seen on this forum. I am about to start on one my friend bought with this project already started. Take it easy on the bondo if you want to fill the holes with it. I have alot of sanding to do to clean up the mess the previous owner left...

    373 Gear Install

Just like the man said! It is worth having them done right the first time. Have the clutches replaced in the rear end and the inner and outer bearings replaced. Setting the backlash on the gear teeth is not the easiest thing to do for a 1st timer. Ask around to find the best shop and not the...

Off Topic...Could this be a scam artist?

Yep it's a scam. I have seen it on other forums and is the exact same offer. Do a search and you will find some interesting threads on this.

    Can Roller Lifters Wear Out?

I am living proof they wear out. My oil pump went out while racing and when I got it home and pulled the intake off I found a roller that looked more like a triangle. There went that motor. Like they said pull em out and inspect for serios wear and make sure that the rollers are not loose. You...

    Cobra Brakes

Try this link. I am about to oder some parts for my Cobra brakes here. They do not list selling the brackets for the fronts seperate, but I have seen them listed on this forum alot and they have the best prices around. I would call them tomorrow and see if they will sell you a set for cheaper...

water pump went out today, what happened?

I pulled my radiator. For about $50.00 I had it cleaned, presure tested, and repainted. It sucks to beat the hell out of the fins trying to replace the pump and like winder said they tend to build up with deposits and those can break free and are not good for the cooling of the radiator or the...

will a passanger seat fit on the drivers side?

I still say you should swap the seat cover and padding from this passenger seat to the drivers frame you already have. It's not that difficult and will resolve this whole issue of seat allignment and the joy of having all of the controls on the right side. I would use the drivers seat tracks...

water pump went out today, what happened?

Not too difficult. I have done about 6 of these and it just takes a few hours. Just take the money to get a good one. They are not fun to redo. Make sure to check your fan for any wear and make sure that it is not out of balance. One of the main causes of a water pump failing is a vibration in...

Did I screw up... PBR caliper question...

You need to have the brackets to bolt the calipers to the spindle. This also gives the proper offset for the 13" cobra rotors. I assume you are converting the front brakes to the Cobra specs. As for the hoses you will want the stainless steel ones anyway and you did good by getting the banjo bolts.

Need help with SN95 wheel hu bearings

Thanks! Looks like I will have to just use clear coat on the hubs. I am using your brake conversion list and wanted to keep the hubs from rusting. By the way that list is the best one I have run across yet. :hail2:

Thanks! I have been doing some research and this is the same answer I keep getting. This is why I have loved all of my Ford's.
