Short cam life with new oils

Hi, Your third? After my first, I converted to a roller. If you wiped any lobes, I guess you know by now, you'll have to totally strip and clean the engine. Third, really?

Hi, I would advise, you to request the mechanic, to return any replaced parts and provide a detailed explanation. It can only benefit you in the future. Good Luck ......Merry Christmas!

    Sputtering at high speeds.

Hi, Check the wires to the "+" and "-" or "Dist" or "Bat" are correct. A polarity issue will cause your sputtering, as well. As noted, you can be experiencing a lean condition as others have mentioned. Check all of your plugs too. Good Luck!

What do you think of this T5 Ratio?

It sounds like you're looking at a T5z with those ratios. It's a nice tranny. I'm running a 3.55 with 25.6" wheels and at 70mph, I'm taching about 1950-2K Rs. Good luck!

Not sure where this goes, but how would you go about doing it

Hi, If resto-mod is your flavor then, nothing wrong in doing it. I put a T5z and TCP front end and dual Webers in my 64.5 vert. A 6 speed with low rear (3.89) and a hotter cam would make for a fun machine. A 6 speed with a 3.00 rear would not work very well. I's not a "hack" job" unless you...

    Camshaft for 331 stroker

Hi, I'm running a 331 (333 w/.040) OEM 5 bolt street warrior. It's running, TW 170s, with a little bowl cleanup, cam matching springs, 10.6 CR, Performer RPM, TRI-Ys, 2.5" (63mm) exhaust into "X" balance, custom hydra-roller CI billet cam (.570/.562 net lift), the dizzy has been custom curved...

    Good Metal Adhesive

Hi, If at all possible, I think the plug is the best and cleanest way to go. This being stated, can you "round-out" the hole with a cutting/abrasive drum bit? I would buy a couple to have on hand. Good Luck!

    New and need help

Hi, From your description, it sounds like you are connecting your remote stater SW in correctly. I use one, as well. Connect the red to the "battery" side of the solenoid, and the other (black) to the "S" terminal on the front left of the solenoid. This is the proper way. Good Luck!

    Good Metal Adhesive

Hi, For a hole that size, have you considered a solid body grommet? They come in many different sizes and can be made permanent with a little sealer. Good Luck!

    Seam sealer and Rust Encap?

Hi, In my mind , it's all about how thorough a job you want to do and in doing it right. If you sell it with no proper rust preventative, is that considered as the next owner's problem? I'm a +1 for the previous respondent's advice.

    square port heads

Hi, My TRI-Ys have "SQ" ports, as well as, most in the market. Where are you looking that you can't find them. There are a lot of headers for the W-JRs

Could I have the wrong flywheel?

I'm not so sure that's a difference. I'm running the same starter on my T5 as I did with my C4, so, the tranny difference is not going to be the issue, in itself. I'm thinking you're going to see something out-of-whack when viewed from the opposite direction. Good luck today!

Tri-y header options - ground clearance

+1 for me, as well. I've run my T/Ys with a C4 and now with a T5 and "Z" bar with no ground clearance issues. My junk is lowered 1.5-2". As mentioned, they help in making big power & torque on my 331. I chose the "Z" (Barillaro version) as I didn't like the way the cable "snaked" it's way...

65 mustang column shaft thread size

Hi, I just measured a replacement shaft I had from my TCP install and it's 5/8". It's supposed to be the correct dia and thread pitch for a 65 steering wheel nut. Hope this helps and good luck with the re-thread, or else? I hate to think of the alternatives.

Repair or replace OEM C-Code Distributor ?

Hi, Yeah that little rod can be a PITA. That's looks like a good curve. If you're running a vac canister,, it too, can be trimmed for a little mid-range performance, depending on how you're picking off the vac. I'm running a '67 dizzy with a 16 degree initial, a mechanical of 23 deg. for an...

Could I have the wrong flywheel?

Hi, I think at this point, as you mention, maybe you didn't install the flywheel correctly, rotate the engine slowly looking for signs of any slight wobble? Perhaps, using the edge of the starter opening as a guide. If not, with the difficulty you mentioned in retrieving the starter, it's being...
