GOT THE CAR DONE AT APRIL 3, 2006 11:50PM!!!!!!!!

I will try that, sounds like a good idea. The drilling should not be required. Since the carb comes with idle-eaze. It is made to solve the lack of air at idle for bigger cams. Check out this link, it seems like a really cool design...

GOT THE CAR DONE AT APRIL 3, 2006 11:50PM!!!!!!!!

I have messed with the idle mixture screws and it hasn't done anything. I have cleaned and checked over the carb. 18 doesn't sound that bad, small block fords tend to like a lot of timing. I am hoping to shoot for 18-24 initial. The plugs have been cleaned up brand new, and I am not running it...

GOT THE CAR DONE AT APRIL 3, 2006 11:50PM!!!!!!!!

KK I had the open vacuum ports plugged. I talked with Barry Grant today. They said that I need to have the transfer slot set at .020" which I have, and the mixture screws one and a half turns out along with the idle eze which I did. So they said I was running the timing too low, it needs to be...

    help with pushrod length

Go with hardened pushrods for sure. I would also use a pushrod length checker and make sure to have the tip of the rocker arms on the center of the valves or you run the risk of mushrooming the head of the valve. Just draw on the top of the valve with a marker, then tighten down the rocker arm...

GOT THE CAR DONE AT APRIL 3, 2006 11:50PM!!!!!!!!

Yeah it is 10w-40 cold, it will probably drop down to 20-25 when it gets warm. I need to pull a plug, and fine tune some things. I am also giving Barry Grant a call tomorrow.

    Anyone had this problem?...

My guage did it too. It was halfway across, but then when I shut it off then went to start the car again later the guage would max out. Those dummy guages are useless, I will agree with D. Hearne and recommend a mechanical guage also. A shroud will help a good deal. One thing that I noticed made...

what dizzy can i use on my roller 66 stang

You need to Mic it. I know that .531 is for a 351 distributor shaft so it will be one of the smaller ones. Best to use a micrometer though.

what dizzy can i use on my roller 66 stang

The gear material needs to be steel. You can buy a steel gear for your current distributor and drill it for the punch. Goes straight on and you can run the same dizzy, that's what I did atleast.

    Couple of final questions

Thank you, I actually talked with Ronstang last night and figured it all out. We put a thin thin fiml of grease on the pilot bearing, we used thread sealer on the flywheel bolts, and a touch of blue threadlock on the pressure plate bolts. We finally dropped the engine and tranny assembly back...

Advice on what to build for metals class

I made my own T5 crossmember, it serves its purpose well, but it is by no means pretty, I have not worked with metal that much. What I want to do is build one of those slave brackets.

Advice on what to build for metals class

This is a very good idea, I was considering doing it. You could also fab up a T5 crossmember, it is not too hard to do, but if you want it to look good you would have to put a little time and effort into it. Would be well worth it though.

    Couple of final questions

Well I am getting ready to drop the engine and tranny in again and I want to make sure I don't overlook any details. I need to mount the flywheel, then the clutch and pressure plate. My final questions are when mounting the flywheel, I know you torque in a star pattern, do I put threadlocker on...

    Drop the tops

Been topless on and off here, for some reason we are getting a lot of rainfall here these last two weeks. Unfortunately mine is not a classic, but I still love it. The Mach should be done soon.

Who would win? Me vs. old school muscle

Dave his car wouldn't touch you, the big block in that car is running 40 year old technology. Yes they make gobs of torque but run out of steam fast, they do have great potential though. Enjoy your car, that is what I plan to do with the Mach 1, I want to cruise in it, although it would be a...
