Piston to valve contact on mock-up....What now? HELP PLEASE!

You can get the lift figured out properly by converting your old hydraulic lifters to solid. What I did was take the plungers out, and filled the center of the lifter with JB weld. That will allow you to have a solid lifter, and get accurate clearance numbers.

Piston to valve contact on mock-up....What now? HELP PLEASE!

I would use a pushrod length checker to make sure you are getting the proper geometry after you are done mocking it up and want to really run it, otherwise you will mushroom the tips of the valves. If you are having contact, then you need to yank those pistons out, and take them to the machine...

Street 351W: 500 CFM too much?

A four barrel will get better economy as well as more power. The two barrel 500 will also get you more power but it is flowing more gas and air the whole time which will hurt economy.

Hey guys I have a holley strip kit, and I need to figure out what sort of jetting would put me in the area I need to be. I have 81p/89s right now but that is not from the factory, I changed them when I was testing some stuff. The problem is I stripped out a plug hole so am fixing that tomorrow...

One last thing I would like to fix.

I guess that is a start. Where does the voltmeter hook up to? I know there is a yellow wire that is unplugged at the positive battery terminal, does the voltmeter go straight to the battery?

    Brake test

Something isn't right. My car only pulls like 6-7 inches of vacuum, and the brakes are not great, but they still are noticeably better with the car turned on than with it off. Just takes some effort. I just bought a canister that will store some volume for me should improve it quite a bit.

I don't know of any rule, I just went with 180 because that is the typical operating temp you want.

Well I got a new lifetime warranty 80amp alt and everything put in and the car is back to normal. One thing that I would like to fix though is the voltmeter in my cluster doesn't work, it is always bottomed out. Where should I start with checking this. What color is the wire I need to be looking...

    Really Weird Problem

I think it is the alternator like you guys have said. I threw the charger onto it, and I could finally shut off the alarm and all the weird clicks stopped. My alarm is back to what it did before too. It used to beep twice when I armed it, little by little it only did one beep. The car came with...

    Really Weird Problem

Guys my car suddenly started acting funny. Last night I was driving home, and it looked like my interior lights were dimmer, then my tach wouldn't drop below 1400rpms, it worked fine when it hit 1400 or above, but if it went below the needle just stopped at 1400. Then my CD radio unit started...

    new roller rockers and smoke

First things first verify your timing, this is a valve adjustment issue, but you need to make sure the timing is set properly first. Then you need to go through and adjust all your valves properly. Valves being out of adjustment will cause your car to backfire out of the carb.

    Synthetic Oil?

You would be surprised HISSIN50 is right the initial runs on the car are where a lot of the seating occurs if you run it hard with a good load on it.
