    Congrats!! Enjoy the bikes and always be safe. I was going to buy a Yamaha R-1 then I test drove it, and saw how fast it really was. Took it back, said they would hear from me, and left. I realized that 18 years old and a 10 second bike will not mix well at all.

    Jerry do not get a new rad that is not your problem. Like others have said get a new fan. I have a 3 row factory radiator on mine with a puller electric fan, and my car barely creeps to 210 degrees with the fan off. I haven't gotten it out there much yet though so not too much city driving yet...

    You gotta remember there were over a million coupes sold. Not to mention it is a six cylinder. I personally would modify it, not like you are carrying a shelby or california special, no offense, if you do a concourse car it still won't be worth that much. So I would modify it.

    Do what D. Hearne said first he knows his holleys. Then I am going to recommend you check the timing. What is initial and check to see if it advances properly. Then if that is all correct and you corrected your floats it is time to tweak with the carb. Could be a lean issue if it is sputtering...

    Oz the crossmember is removable, belive me it is very easy to get off. Don't bother messing with the engine you won't need to. Don't buy a sneaky pete. Get the pan off, then the cap, then just tap it out with a small hammer and punch, take good care to not nick the crank. Will come right out...

    I am having the exact problem, I am trying to get the distributor on a machine so I can take the car above 3000rpms. It is killing me I want to feel the power. I can't even get the tires to hook at 2000rpms can't wait to see what the real powerband is going to feel like.
