    Sticky: I6 to V8 conversion

I picked up a super clean 65 I6 for 5 grand from arizona. interior is mint, body is a good 10 footer. price is so low because of the 6, if it was a v8 car in this condition, it would have been a boatload more money. Now granted I'm speeding a ton on it, but it will be done how I want it in the...

    70 302 starts, but won't idle :(

Unless I missed it you make no mention of your timing? Have you checked it? Since you stated you rebuilt the engine I'm assuming the distributor was out of the motor. Check your points, check your timing, are the wires cap and rotor new? Are you sure the distributor isn't off a tooth...

Narrowing my 65 Mustang rear end

I can appreciate the work that went into that, but I really don't like the look. Especially with the flares

New brakes are a bit weak

Ahh ha, yes your right Dennis, did realize that little cylinder was the pressure valve. It is in there. Yesterday after talking to you, I went out and adjusted the rear brakes again. Apparently I didn't have them out as far as I thought I did. System feels much much better now. I'm also going...

New brakes are a bit weak

Is there a way to tell by looking at the master, to see if it has one? Part number maybe? I hate to keep bothering Dennis.

New brakes are a bit weak

I'd be fine with more pedal pressure, I work out I can handle it. My concern was I'm not feeling much resistance in the pedal till it's about half way through it's travel, and not getting any significant stoppage on the car till about 3/4 travel.

New brakes are a bit weak

Yup, bench bled it. My kit has the adjustable proportioning valve, not the residual. Is adjusted. Just talked to Dennis, he thinks there's air in the system, I am going to bleed it again and see what happens.

Didn't want to bother Dennis, as he is a busy man, but I will give him a shout.

New brakes are a bit weak

The pushrod from the pedal to the master? I have it adjusted out so the pedals bump stop is just touching the dash

New brakes are a bit weak

Ok granted it's a manual break system in a 45 year old car. I get that, but I just upgraded the front drums to disc and the new rear end has a much larger drum setup. I did the front with the kit from discbrakeswap, excellent customer service by the way and a very nicely assembled kit. I've...

FYI, I just used my hvac vacuum pump to bleed my system. Some hose and a few connectors made it super easy.

Narrowing my 65 Mustang rear end

I just installed my narrowed 9" this week. I now fit 245/60/15's on 15x8 magnum 500's. Very tight fit though. It's a measure 20 times cut once situation. You wanna get it juuuuust right. For mine which was way over stock to begin with (so I had no choice but to shorten it) I took it a half...
