    05 V6 power potential

As usual, most people are completely missing the point. The V6 Mustang is a CHEAP CAR!! Sure the 4.0L isn't a spectacular engine. Sure it has low specific output. Sure it's low-tech, pushrod, etc.. Yeah Honda's V6 is better. But the V6 Accord is a $25k car. The Cadillac 3.6 V6 is a very nice...

    05 V6 power potential

Granted, but that's not a significant difference. Accessories are maximum 20hp on a loaded car. Less on one without power steering and AC. More like 10hp. The main difference in 'perceived' power in newer cars versus older cars has to do with the driveline and dynamics of the vehicle, as I...

    05 V6 power potential

There's no difference in measurement. That's like me saying two feet measured one way is longer than two feet measured another way. Horsepower is horsepower. The reason for the drop in power in the early 70s had nothing to do with changing the measurement system. The engines actually DID...

    Yep. I have one myself.

service engine soon light came on

This is not quite true. The SES is not an 'emissions light'. It's used to indicate mechanical malfunctions as well (ones that could potentially be damaging to your engine if not dealt with), as well as emissions-related issues. If you haven't noticed a severe change in the car's behavior...

CAI / Pulleys or GT Take offs

Intake and pulley will give you more performance than exhaust. No question. You want a 25% UD crank pulley. That one by itself is enough. Some will tell you that you need an overdrive pulley for the alternator - you don't (unless you have a 2000W+ stereo). Some might also suggest a 10% UD...

service engine soon light came on

He said 50,000 KILOMETERS. Canadian, eh? ;) Warranty is to 60000kms in Canada.

service engine soon light came on

No prob. :) No, Mustangs don't. New cars have a separate light. A little 'maintenance' lamp or something. They won't ever use the same light that indicates an engine condition (like a Check Engine Light, Service Engine Soon, whatever you want to call it) to indicate maintenance. They're...

service engine soon light came on

Unfortunately no, it's not supposed to come on. Something's broken. If you're at 50k on a 2002, you're still under warranty. Could be anything, but the dealer should take care of it.

    6 to 8 conversion

You'd want to get a donor car. You want the entire front end. There shouldn't be much you need outside that, beyond some small misc items. Figure 8-16 hours labor at a good mechanic. Pricey.

Buying a chip, but don't know what's best???

You'll have to spend more than that for anything of decent quality. The best around are FordChip or SCT. SCT's website is here http://www.superchipscustom.com/ , and they have dealers all over. I recommend Justin at http://www.velocitymustangperformance.com/ . FrodChip is good, but their...

    Spark knock diag and repair

Not to be a prick, just to make sure you have your story straight - it's the VALVE COVER (or rocker cover) you're replacing. Not the PCV valve cover. There is no PCV valve cover. The valve cover is about a 12" long cover that sits on top of the cylinder head and protects the rocker arms. The PCV...

    Engine Code P1151

Thats the drivers' side pre-cat O2. Maybe a vac leak somewhere has you running a bit lean? Could always be a bad sensor. If you have tons of time, you can swap the two pre-cat sensors (driver and passenger). If/when the code comes back, you'll know whether it's an actual lean condition or...

    Spark knock diag and repair

Welcome! I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but unfortunately, it's going to depend 99% on where you take it. Realistically, I wouldn't be expecting a dealer to fix a TSB on a car that's out of warranty for no charge. I'd be very surprised if a dealer did. Then again...

    Valvetrain Upgrade

Nope, the components you mentioned would be sufficient, and nothing else would be necessary in terms of preventing premature wear or damage. Assuming of course you install it all properly. A good tune will be necessary to extract the most performance from that setup. Would probably help out...

    Valvetrain Upgrade

You're talking about just pushrods and springs? You probably won't notice anything whatsoever. I'm not sure what the spring pressure difference is between stockers and RPMs 515s (although Mik would know), but even if there's a sizeable difference, you won't feel it, and it won't get you any more...

Price Guesstimate for Auto to 5 spd?

If you're talking about paying someone else to do the labor, it'd be cheaper to trade your car in. I'm not saying that to be a prick, just to be honest. If you go to a dealer or mechanic for this, I can't see it costing less than $2000. Probably more. For that kind of money you could pull...

    '03 drop question

Think harder. :D Look at all the Stangs out there with 17s. They look great, and will cost you WAY less than 20s, leaving you with money for other stuff. If you want to be different, I'd say 18s are uncommon enough that you'll stand out. But 19s or 20s are just asking for trouble, IMO.
