hELP CHANGING AUTO TRANSMISSION IN MY GARAGE

I've done multiple trans swaps with the engine in. Jackstands at full extension and a transmission jack make it easy. I even did my C4 to T10 then T10 to T5 swaps with this method. A few blocks of wood helps if you don't have a transmission cradle for your jack. I agree about the...

    Percy's high performance polycarbonate windshield

Lexan is one of the trade names polycarbonate is sold under. Where on that page does it say it isn't Lexan?

    Popping under quick throttle opening

Dunno, maybe an exhaust lifter starts to pump up as the revs go up? Slowly revving the engine could give the lifter enough time to get oil into it. The video is too short to tell, but it sounds like the noise gets quieter after each successive rev.

    Popping under quick throttle opening

Work on this over the weekend? Sounds like an engine brake on a truck, which works by keeping the exhaust valve closed. Maybe broken/weak exhaust spring and/or pushrod, collapsed lifter or flat lobe on the cam. Another possibility is an intake rocker adjusted too tight. Re-adjust all the rockers...

    Fuel Pump Mounting

As mentioned it's probably as loud as the Holley one, but my real concern is the Summit name. It might be a "Pro Comp" pump, a company known to sell Chinese copies of well-known products. I'd stay away. Facet pumps are quiet for sure. Not exactly a popular name with car guys (at least in the...

    Wheel Adapter Size?

No, 17x9 will not work in the front.

    Loud Squeak/Creak

Good idea, also you can use a piece of rubber fuel hose as a stethoscope while you have someone bounce the car. You'll easily pinpoint the noise that way.

    Loud Squeak/Creak

If you have the means to grease the upper control arms make sure you grease it enough so that you see clean grease come out of the rubber seals, otherwise the threads will not get enough lube and will rust/squeak.

considering these wheels for my '66 what do you think?

That car is green, and the wheels are 18s. http://forums.stangnet.com/618064-fun-0mm-offset-bullitt-wheels.html#post5958823

    Wheel Adapter Size?

Tires are a factor, too. For example the factory 245/45-17 on a 96 17x8 Cobra wheel with 1" spacer does not clear the fender on a 67/68 unless you're riding it 4x4 style. Too many factors, not enough info.

    351C in a 67 Mustang Question

I have to dig them out of my parents' basement the next time I go there. The cost depends on how many giant slugs, mice, and spiders I have to fight through to get the headers.

    351C in a 67 Mustang Question

When I found the headers I have I didn't think they were for a Mustang because the tubes were so long and snaked all over the place. There was a '67 Cougar in the shop at the time with no engine so I mocked it up, and it fit perfectly down to the previous owner's dings in the tubes to clear some...

I have headers for that application, sitting in the basement collecting dust (rust?). Fix your location in your profile and you might get more help.

That was taken by a member here. I'm still waiting on suspension pics because I'm just curious.

Need help with the clutch pedal spring...

Yep if it's a diaphragm clutch it'll suck the pedal right to the floor and stay there. If you're still using a Long-style clutch then you might appreciate the extra few lbs. it removes from the pedal but I never installed mine when I did have a Long.

That's the power steering pump's internal vanes making the rattle noise. Mine does that when it's hot.

What's the latest word on Pertronix II's reliability? Thinking of taking out my non-vacuumed billet distributor for a stock one that's converted with the Pertronix to get some street manners back.

    Have a good one!

Oh he's for real, it's just that his internet-fu is very weak. Posting a bye bye message then logging back on the next morning to see if he got the attention he wanted is just bad. I don't know about the Edelbrock claim. "Official" could mean anything, for example his videos he advertises in his...
