Got some type of drivetraine "whine"

Oh good lord... my buddy and I had a time with my diff... putting those 3.90s in is something I never want to experience again. We finally had to make a "tool" to stop the pinion from rotating while he used a big ass 1" impact gun to tighten the nut. Beforehand while I held it with a prybar it...

How much for clutch/flywheel install what else do i need?

If you've got time, I'd definitely do it yourself and save 350 bucks... it's not very hard, just time consuming. A haynes manual, though it reroutes you a lot, will give you step-by-step instructions. The only things that were especially difficult were: 1. That damn 3rd starter bolt... you...

    Alum Flywheel

Your stocker is 27 lbs... if you're going for a lighter flywheel don't go below 12 lbs or you start running into trouble. Don't know much about fidanza's flywheel... but anywho a good rule of thumb is a lb lost on the drivetrain is about the equivalent of a hp gained (or not lost due to...

    4.10 not worth it!!!

Umm... it's a bit hard to change out a differential (believe me we tried to crush the crush sleeve with a beast of an impact gun that looked like an M60 [complete with overhead handlebar] and sounded like a V8... I looked like I was getting shot with a machine gun when I was trying to hold the...

    Clutch Question for the Experts

Yeah sounds like the fork has either slid off the pivot ball or one or both are broken... try pulling the fork out from the tranny then smacking it back inwards... that might help it set... man I remember that thing being a bitch to get on there.

    4.10 not worth it!!!

It's still vastly overestimating the amount of throttle you can lay down... no traction all throughout 1st with DRs? Highly unlikely unless you just suck at driving.

    4.10 not worth it!!!

Alright ******* you win... I should've stated redline topspeed. Take it a little easy though, as this is a message board, not a debate. You sound like a cocky little 17 year old.

    4.10 not worth it!!!

And your statement's 50% false. :P I was talking about the redline top speed, and in fact assuming the car could get up to that point... I understand that wind resistance would hinder the car from reaching it way before, but once you get enough horsepower to get up to that mechanical top speed...

Custom gauge install on 2000 GT - where CD player goes

I was wanting to do the same thing except use the space for toggle switches for my fan and a line lock... plus some other things possibly down the road. Any ideas where I might find one? I've seen gauge/toggle combos for older 5.0s but not for this particular application.

    4.10 not worth it!!!

Of course there's no top speed gain... the top speed decreases because of the gears... all you get with a lower gear is the engine working harder to turn the wheels at the same rate, thus an increase in acceleration. Now if you can conform to the traction and such the 4.10s can have quite...
