    SVT RUMOR NOT TRUE!!!!

If it was true, SVT is not going to speak the truth till it officially happens. Businesses, both corporate and local; do that all the time. If any of you have ever dealt with people who control costs at work, you know how much power and say-so they have in a company.

    brake pad question

The Carbon Metallic pads from Performance Friction work great on the front of my car. They are a little less expensive than their Z-rated pads but when I was doing back to back 60-0 while testing my G-Tech, I noticed that these pads do bite harder when heat is introduced into the equation. Would...

`98 Cobra too slow need help

And if you don't powershift, you probably lose about 2-3 tenths. The stock computer program pulls timing out in between gear changes in order to preserve the gearbox.

    Subframe connectors and control arms

Yes, Lower Control arms especially make a heck of a difference. Just do a little research on what brand you might want to get. I have heard that the Pro3i arms are great. If you are driving the car just on the street, it would be ok to just keep the stock upper control arms in. You don't want...

    were' the oil

The Check oil light probably came on because you either a) Parked the car on an incline and the oil was collecting inside the pan at an angle, tripping a code because the oil sender was not picking up anything. A normal occurrence on these cars. b) You shut off the engine and then restarted...

    Hawk, Greenstuff, or OEM pads?

OEM pads are better than failing brakes. I have the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads that I bought at Auto Zone. Lots of people have used Hawk pads and the top-rated Z-Rated pads from the aforementioned Performance Friction. If you buy the EBC pads, make you get the right grade. Some of...

98 Cobra or keep 99 Gt

Since you know about the history of your car, why don't you just upgrade your car when the time comes. A nice fully built bored out SOHC engine with a supercharger perhaps? SOHC engine blocks are teh cheap campared to the DOHC cousins. Plus, the suspension and stuff you can upgrade your car to...

My Book Review of Sean Hylands "How to Build.. a 4.6L"

I enjoy perusing the book from time to time as well. I thought it was cool that he made clear cam covers, timing chain cover and I think an oil pan that he could view the oil in action as the 4.6 engine was on the dyno so he could track how all the oil traveled throughout the block.

    damn wax residue!!!!

Then the next time you apply wax to the car, get some of the new NXT from Meguiars. It doesn't leave any wax residue plus I see that it has outlasted the Gold Class in terms of durability on the two cars that I applied it to.

Which Cobra to Get 94-95 or 96-98

Your '92 was the last year that the 5.0 engine was equipped with forged pistons. Well, except for my friends '93- must have had the leftover '92 engines so they put the forged piston model in his car.

    ideas for my 1996 cobra

I know that you said the Cobra was stock, if you do not have an aftermarket mid-pipe such as a Bassani or MagnaFlow and maybe for sound than performance a nice cat-back muffler system. Get some 4.10 gears installed because the car is really under geared with the 3.27's. Maybe put a nice cold air...
