what cowl hood is everyone using?

The one from Mustang Depot is superbly made. My paint and body guy said it was the best quality aftermarket fiberglass hood he had worked with. Kudos to Jay.

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

Pay attention here...I've already done the MII to my 66 'vert. I haven't decided what to do w/ the 65 2+2 that is sitting in the basement. THAT is why I made the comment; already done the MII once, and just not sure which direction. I kind of like the idea of something more simple like...

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

Tempted to order one for my '65. I don't think I will go to all of the trouble of the MII front end for it.

    65 fastback project w/pics

I bought a cowl hood from Mustang Depot that my paint and body guy said was as good a piece of aftermarket fiberglass as he'd ever seen. Good quality stuff! Now you just need to throw a blower on that 408W...as I have done! Totally sick then...

    1965 Fastback project.

Very nice! I can't get anything done on my 'vert...and every day I walk past the 2+2 in the garage it makes me nuts! I love the idea of the aluminum block. Too bad they are so pricey, as it is a good approach to getting some weight off of the front end. Can't wait to hear about your...

    Fire and Ice

Remember: two different cars. The cage is shown for the straightline car. Similar to my 'vert. Not made for the twisties. It is confusing as he shows the turbo I-6 [for the road course car] in a post next to the caged coupe [1/4 mi car].

    T-56 how strong

The T56 is strong, but can be broken. My GTO will be tuned to 550-600 RWHP w/ twin turbos [change from STS rear mount; currently underway] and I am not worried, BUT this is with 19" wheels which will not stay hooked up. For my 66 'vert project, I have a TKO600 which is a very strong tranny...

    Fire and Ice

A different direction, eh? Your 'paired' cars are interesting, as that is exactly what I'm trying to do [pending sufficient time & money]. My 'vert is definitely a drag-themed car [gee, 12+" rear tires, >800 hp Procharged 408...] although it will be "one and done" anywhere it goes, as it won't...

    Bass Blues

Okay, I will admit it: I am a psycho! Besides that, I like fast [okay, scary fast] cars and clean, loud music [okay, I want the ability to remove anyone from the car with the stereo...no James Bond ejection seat required]. Solution: if you look at the linked thread on my 'vert, we built dual...

    mustang II front end

The R&C Motorsports kit is very well built, and it is not all that complicated of an install. We are reinforcing the front end...but then again, 800hp can put some stress on the chassis! I haven't decided what I will do in the 2+2, but I think the MII was just the ticket for the 'vert.

    Moving Rear Sub connectors:

If you look at this thread, you can see what we've done w/ my 66, which has even less room. Easily have 12" under the stock sheet metal! http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=634491

Lokar throttle Lokar pedal assy replacement for 65 - 70

This looks good...but where can I find a set including cable clutch apparatus [my 65 has an auto, but I want to convert to a TKO600]?

    HELP, I need 2" headers...

I have pondered the same issue for my blown 408. My builder says that they use custom stepped headers in the race cars using this engine...but I have realized that I cannot justify $1000 for headers either. 1 3/4" likely...

    PUSHROD -VS- MODULAR

When I was talking w/ Tracy [the engine builder] we were talking about that little bit of fear one gets before starting the car and heading out. He says that is his idea of the "perfect" street engine :). He has also said that he'll send me a couple of different pulleys just in case I want to...

    Weiand 174 Draw thru SuperCharger

My 408 will use a blow-through setup. My engine builder has done over 20 of them and has the jetting worked out quite well. He says that it's a lot easier tuning a blow through centrifugal supercharger than a turbo. If I had gone w/ a turbo, he was recommending a swap to efi. I like the...

    PUSHROD -VS- MODULAR

Nemesis67, I started a thread about my 'vert that may be of interest to you if you are looking at SERIOUS horsepower. I haven't done anything recently on the car [getting ready to switch the GTO over from the STS to twin front mount turbos from an Aussie outfit], but my blown 408W is about...

SOUNDPROOFING--TO DYNAMAT OR NOT TO DYNAMAT?

A second on the Quiet Coat. I bought a bunch of it for my Mustangs...but ended up putting 5 gal all over the inside of my GTO. It is a quiet car to start with...but with this stuff, it was more so. Of course, lay some B-quiet on top of that! B-Quiet has a great product line. Their...

    PUSHROD -VS- MODULAR

Or do what I'm doing: stroked 408W + Procharger D2 blower + carb. Self contained w/o all of the wiring efi entails. More rwhp than can be safely managed...even w/ lots of chassis mods. I did the MII front end >2 yrs ago, so that I would have room to do whatever I wanted. I was going to put...

    351W Block question.

My reliable source [very experienced engine builder w/ a building full of 'cores'] DOES believe the '69 is stronger. The webbing is thicker. He's doing 4 bolt splayed caps on my 408w...which IS being fitted with a blower. He is quite sure that this engine will hold up in its duty for a...
