    Changing Distributors

Maybe Not trying to be contrary, but I had the Pertronix I. Went to duraspark and the car misses less and idles better. That little computer seems to do pretty well. I did go through some work to recurve it before using it though. http://www.carbdford.com/viewtopic.php?t=5392

Tower Bars no worky w/ Duraspark full cap

I love how this car can prove I am an idiot. Couldn't figure out why the car stumbles and backfires at wot after installing durspark setup. One day, yesterday to be precise, the car began to really run like crap. Checked with vacuum gauge, bounced from 13 to 14. "Damn," I thought, "must be a...

Off road needles and seats Not sure, but in the hours of research I've had to do on edelbrock carbs I have come across 4wheelers mentioning problems with fuel slosh. Off-Road Needles and Seats (pair) #1465 Includes a pair of spring loaded needles and .0935" seats. Worth a shot.

I have the Randall rack and have been driving it!! I put up a post about the install and have yet to start documenting the experience. The car responds and drives mountains better than before. The power rack is above and beyond the stock power system. I need to get the car properly aligned...

Repair of Rack internals - longevity Spoke with Randy yesterday, says the rack will ship today. Anyway, a major concern about this product is the long term repair of the unit. I asked Randy about this and he noted that while the housing is heavily modified the internals are still a GM...

Sounds familliar With the manual steering setup, my car would often feel more in control at one time than the other as well. I alwasy attributed it to the no-center feeling of the box design. I am hoping the rack corrects this, if it does i'll let you know. Thanks Don

Darkbudda, 1. Measure turning radius before and after conversion, definitively. Wish i could but pulling the oil pan required the steering linkage to be dropped. I am sure we could get those figures elswhere, the linkage was entirely stock. So maybe some old road and track review would...

Addendum to Bendix article, and copy attachment I have written a more fair minded conclusion to the Bendix power steering arguement. So bearing in mind the complexities, difficulties, expenses, and required level of expertise involved in restoring the Bendix power steering system; you will...

Ok, no editing It does make it dificult. I already am in the process of keeping a text version on file for future reference. This I will collate and finish into a final product. I still feel the need to add information provided by you and others into the final product as I invariably miss...

Literal integrity and editing I am pleased to see the interest and input I am already receiving on this subject. I am sure that I am not the only one who has noticed that the idea of a thread can become confusing to a reader quite quickly when it comes to the idea of digesting large amounts of...

Picture Quality Check I thought i would start with a before picture and see if it is clear Line A is where the Randall/ TCP racks would mount, line B is where the steeriods rack would mount. The shaded area is a problem area for any p/s car that has enjoyed the crossed lines phenomenom...

I won't mention names, but I have spent some time on another forum where there is a bit of piety going on. Furthermore, members are being rated by the level ($) of their contributions. I really don't want to be a class warrior, but I am really struggling financially. I am very close to...

Mavalgear, oh the unisteer rack I considered that one, but could not find enough details about where it installed. This is important as I'll explain later. If you are really curious, note how the speeddirect rack mounts. My other reasoning was that my wife green lighted this project because...

Original power steering system part 2 Ok, so the steering box. Can we get a Woohoo for the Saginaw recirculating ball gearbox. I do not know if these boxes ever offered responsive steering without the help of the control valve. The box in my 68 had 3 inches of play, the brand new one I bought...

I perfectly understand I know, don't get me wrong. But i am pretty poor. So my main interest is to get the project finished under a certain budget so i can apply my attention elsewhere. I align the car twice a year anyway, so if the inners wear quickly, i am sure i can make the case to the...
