    My thought would be post something in the NE section and see if a local member would do it for a modest fee. H-pipes are pretty straight forward with jack/stands/socket wrench/breaker bar. I'd offer, but I'm probably a 80min drive away.

    I had a similar problem to what you are saying, though i had it related to a fuel rail bolt that would spin, but not come out. I used a slide-hammer to get it out. After that our situations differ, but I think helicoil would work in your case.

    Yea those could be cobra seats, there wasn't anything special about them in 1999. Agreed with the guy above who said one thing at a time. I usually find that any job I tackle on the car results in some kind of snag and some times it's better to just walk away for a little while and come back...

    I'd pay around 7k. I just finished spending 4 months shopping, and seems like the ball park for a similar car. Being yellow and automatic really hurts it IMO, but i'm sure it appeals to some ppl.

    They wouldn't have even gotten as far as the sniffer test. Every state at least has the visual exam and without cats, you would have failed instantly. Good thing you have the stock pipe handy :)

    Alternator Issue??

    Agreed, head unit should not throw a code at all. As for the alternator, it could be the problem, though I would lean towards the wiring. Take it over to Advance Auto, they should be able to test it for you and tell you if it's putting out the proper power. Test should be free.

    I would also recommend an MPH tune, I loved the tune that came with my Mongoose kit. Best bet for power though would be to have it tuned on a dyno, though you might want to accumulate some more mods before doing so.
