    351W .30 over bore = ?

    You talk like a bowtie boy. That's a bored over 350. A 351 has a bore and stroke of 4.000 x 3.500 CID = 8 x (pi/4) x bore^2 x stroke = 8 x 0.7854 x 4.030" x 4.030" x 3.500" = 357 in^3

    opinion on wheels

My vote would be: 15x7 with 225/50's (front) 15x8.5 with 245/50's (rear) They're small enough in diameter for the II, they're a wider than the originals, and they fill out the fenderwells nicely.

    BON MII Thread

"the Mustang2 was a well engineered car that brought about many technological advancements to the Mustang and pony car market. Things like rack&pinion steering, 4wheel disc brakes, advanced suspension system" "Mustang II's are not popular because they were poorly engineered, period."...

    '75 V8's did have inline filler, same as '76. I didn't know about the early '77 V8's.

    Fibergalss bumpers

I have the MAS bumpers also. It looks like they were molded from old cracked urethane originals, there are surface cracks molded right in. The quality wasn't top notch, but the price was right. I used stainless steel carriage bolts through to aluminum L-brackets. It is a through bolt, but I...

    wheelbase ?

I have considered it. I think that the biggest inherent handling problem with the II is that the front 'axle' is too far back, causing too much front weight bias. But I think that by the time you go through all the work to move the crossmember, reinforce the subframe, modify the oilpan and...

76 Mustang II 5 lug conversion?

I second that. If you're making the conversion, you might as well bump up the rotor size. The 9" originals are grossly undersized for a car in the neighborhood of 3000 lbs. 11" Granada(~'75-'80) rotors are cheap. So are the GM calipers that usually work with these conversions, maybe $15...

    Mustang II

Check out the following discussion on cross-drilled rotors. This guy gets fiercely flamed. It's a bit lengthy, but very educational and funnier'n hell. http://corner-carvers.com/altimathread.php.html

    Mustang II

Cross drilled rotors are only good for a better pimp factor, not better stopping. Unless you like the look of them, don't waste your money.

Easy way to check rear ratio?

With one wheel on the ground and not spinning, the ring gear turns half as much. 2 turns of the airborn wheel = 1 turn of the ring gear. The one wheel up, one down idea is meant for an open diff. If you have a good limited slip, you want to get both wheels off the ground and spin the wheel...

    Gas tanks officially suck

I just went through the same routine. Ready to graft sections from a late model tank, only to find my II's tank full of pinholes. I had no luck finding a direct replacement either. Very discouraging. I ended up buying a 15 gallon fuel cell, figuring to mount it centered under the rear of the...
