    question about suspension and lowering/raising

RAISING the back end would be considered taboo by most folks on this board. That was really poular in the 70's, but the low stance is the rage these days. I think that you'll have a hard time finding replacement suspension parts that will raise the back end, unless you get shackles, or have...

    -=How much to machine a block???=-

Check out this link. http://www.golenengineservice.com/ Look at the machining service link. About 50% higher than my area, but I'm in the sticks in Kentucky. Anyway, they are a good ballpark and reference.

    Price of Machined block?

Boring costs $8 per hole in my area. I can't imagine a SBC block being worth over $100. I've bought whole SBC motors for that.

    Floor pans and hobby welder

It would work, and has for many. Wire feed WITH gas is easier, and makes much better looking welds. Just practice a lot first to get your settings right, clean the weld areas well and have fun ! There are lots of links in this forum about replacing pans, by the way. Good luck. :nice:

    heatiig a garage

Just finished insulating my garage/shop and adding heat this fall. My shop is detached, and it would have been real expensive to get gas to it, so I opted for electric. I'm about 28x36' with 10 foot ceilings. I bought three of the units below from Northern Tool...
