    What has anybody used as a lower dust boot for a Hurst Completion shifter on their Mustang. I’m not sure if the stock ones for the Ford shifters will fit. I have a 68 coupe with a toploader and a 302.

    convert a 67-6cyl C4 over to a V8?

    Can I convert a 67-6cyl C4 over to a V8 by just switching the converter and bell? I could count the splines and figure it out my self but the two transmissions are buried in a back corner of the garage. If this is doable the trans will be used only for limited use until I get the V8 one rebuilt.

    I emailed Kevin at Mart Auto Works and he said that I should try posting this question on a forum. Which did the cars come from the Factory with? The Tachman said it would be a 6k but he wasn’t 100% sure.

    So what should I do about the face alignment? I’ve sent 5 more emails to Lakewood but they are not responding to them. I’m going to give them a call on Monday because I’m off from work. :bang:

    numbers on 351 block ?

    I found this, The D2AE-CA block was used as a service replacement for the '71 Boss 351, and for the '72-'74 351 CJ. The differnces are in the pistons used along with the camshafts. The Boss also had specially selected and treated cranks and connecting rods and high strength rod bolts. :nice:

    Now you just have to figure if it’s a Windsor or Cleveland style block. Are there two or four bolt mains on it? I’m not sure if a Cleveland had the four bolts that late.

    I looked at that 1970 pedal and all of the basic dimensions are the same as the 68 pedal. The differences I found were, One grind spot in the area that might come in contact with the clutch lever shaft. One grind area a little lower than the previous that might be there to clear the lower...

    My 68 brake pedal isn’t notched but I also have a 1970 auto PB pedal and it is notched. I think the thickness of the pedal is the same with there being two areas that had grinding done at the factory.

    With the forged pistons, things will also run slightly cooler as the aluminum molecules are tighter together resulting in better heat transfer. At least that is what I was always told!

    I sent another email to Lakewood two days ago and haven’t heard back from them yet. This makes 4 emails over a two weeks time that there is no response to. This does not include the first one that wasn't answered fully.:mad:

    3180 Competition Plus shifter! The 373-7637 install kit should also work for you. At least I hope so because that is what I bought to install.:D

    Yea, 0.018” is the total so divided by 2 I get 0.009 and the 0.007 offset dowels will work on centering the bore. The center hole or bore had some flash on it so in order to get and accurate reading I removed it along with any paint that might have been built up. I know that they say if the...

    Like I said, I don’t have a problem getting offset dowels for the bore centering but have a problem with the face alignment. Has anybody run into this problem? Ford said you have to check it where Lakewood says no.
